Anarchism In Peru
Anarchism in Peru emerged from the Peruvian trade union movement during the late 19th century and the first two decades of the 20th century. History The beginnings of anarchism in Peru can be traced back to 1870. In the craftsmen's guilds at the end of the 19th century, a certain anarchist orientation began to gain influence. In 1904 the first anarchist organizations began to appear, with forming the "Star of Perú" Federation of Bakers (FOPEP), founded by the libertarian militants Fidel García Gacitúa, Urmachea and Manuel Caracciolo Lévano; that year they carried out their first strike. On May 1, 1905, a commemorative event for the Haymarket Martyrs was held for the first time. In 1907, Anarchists participated in strikes at the port of Callao, the repression that followed took the life of Florencio Aliaga. United Left (Peru)
United Left (in Spanish: ''Izquierda Unida'') was an alliance of leftist political parties in Peru founded in 1980 by Popular Democratic Unity (UDP), Revolutionary Left Union (UNIR), Peruvian Communist Party (PCP), Revolutionary Socialist Party (PSR), Revolutionary Communist Party (PCR) and FOCEP. In 1984 UDP and a part of PCR converted itself into the Mariateguist Unified Party (PUM). PUM integrated itself in IU. IU was led by Alfonso Barrantes Lingán (who lost to Alan García in the 1985 elections) up to 1987. In 1989 IU held its first congress. Workers' Revolutionary Party (Peru)
The Workers' Revolutionary Party ( es, Partido Revolucionario de los Trabajadores) is a Trotskyist political party in Peru founded in 1978 by a fraction of PST, FIR(IV) and FIR(Combate). Its founding leaders included Hugo Blanco, Hipólito Enríquez, Raúl Castro Vera and Nicolás Lucar. It participated in the general elections 1980 and the municipal elections 1980 and 1983. PRT is currently led by Raúl Castro Vera. Revolutionary Workers' Party (Peru)

Originally known as the Marxist Workers Group, it changed its name in 1946. Early leaders included Francisco Zevallos, Leoncio Bueno and Francisco Abril de Vivero. In 1952, Manuel A. Odría jailed or exiled the leadership of the group, which remained largely inactive until he stepped down in 1956. Two rival parties of the same were constituted.
