Comenius University Faculty Of Mathematics, Physics And Informatics
The Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics (FMPH; sk, FMFI; sk, Fakulta matematiky, fyziky a informatiky; colloquial: ''Matfyz'') is one of 13 faculties of the Comenius University in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. The faculty provides higher education in mathematics, physics and informatics, as well as teacher training in subjects related to these branches of study. It was established in 1980 by separating from the Faculty of Natural Sciences under the name of ''Faculty of Mathematics and Physics'' ( sk, Matematicko-fyzikálna fakulta). Its name was changed to the contemporary name in 2000. In 2015, Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics was ranked first in the group of natural sciences in the ranking of faculties in Slovakia by the Academic Ranking and Rating Agency (ARRA). Comenius University
Comenius University in Bratislava ( sk, Univerzita Komenského v Bratislave) is the largest university in Slovakia, with most of its faculties located in Bratislava. It was founded in 1919, shortly after the creation of Czechoslovakia. It is named after Jan Amos Comenius, a 17th-century Czech teacher and philosopher. In 2020, Comenius University had more about 23,000 students and 2,500 faculty members. As are most universities in Slovakia, it is funded mostly by the government. The Faculty of Natural Sciences (FNS) ( Slovak: ''Prírodovedecká Fakulta'' (PriF UK)) is a faculty of the Comenius University in Bratislava. History Efforts to establish the Faculty of Natural Sciences in Slovakia during the interwar period were not successful. After split of the Czechoslovakia into the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia and the Slovak Republic and disposal of Czech higher education, Slovak students had no more science colleges available. The Natural Sciences Faculty of Slovak University (former name of Comenius University in Bratislava) was founded in 1940 and education in the first semester started in autumn 1940/1941. The Faculty of Informatics and Information Technology ( sk, Fakulta informatiky a informačných technológií) is one of the faculties of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. The Astronomical Observatory of Modra ( sk, Astronomické observatórium Modra), also known as Modra Observatory or the Astronomical and Geophysical observatory in Modra, is an astronomical observatory located in Modra, Slovakia. Simulated annealing (SA) is a probabilistic technique for approximating the global optimum of a given function. Specifically, it is a metaheuristic to approximate global optimization in a large search space for an optimization problem.
