Come Around (Carla Dal Forno Album)
''Come Around'' is the third studio album by Australian vocalist Carla dal Forno, released 4 November 2022 by the artist's label Kallista Records. The album was announced 17 August alongside the release of the lead single and title track, which also came with a music video edited by Ludovic Sauvage which depicts dal Forno walking through a blurry, red landscape. The album explores themes of home, disorder and insomnia, and is the artist's first since her move to Castlemaine, Victoria, Australia where she recorded the album. Carla dal Forno is an Australian electro-pop singer and multi-instrumentalist. Formerly of the groups Mole House (2010–2013) and F ingers (2013–2017), dal Forno has issued three solo studio albums ''You Know What It's Like'' (2016), ''Look Up Sharp'' (2019) and '' Come Around'' (2022). Career Carla dal Forno began her music career in Melbourne in 2010, playing in bands while also completing a degree in fine arts. She collaborated with friends Micky Zulicki and Pat Breen in a group, Mole House, which released music on Zulicki's Quemada Records and were active between 2010 and 2013. Dal Forno also released music as a member of F ingers ( Fingers Pty Ltd) alongside Sam Karmel and Tarquin Manek, and in the duo Tarcar with Manek. Synth-pop
Synth-pop (short for synthesizer pop; also called techno-pop; ) is a subgenre of new wave music that first became prominent in the late 1970s and features the synthesizer as the dominant musical instrument. Joseph Byrd
Joseph Hunter Byrd, Jr. (born December 19, 1937) is an American composer, musician and academic. After first becoming known as an experimental composer in New York City and Los Angeles in the early and mid-1960s, he became the leader of The United States of America, an innovative but short-lived band that integrated electronic sound and radical political ideas into rock music. In 1968 he recorded the album ''The American Metaphysical Circus'', credited to Joe Byrd and the Field Hippies. After working as a record producer, arranger, and soundtrack composer, he became a university teacher in music history and theory. Dorothy Moskowitz (born 1940) is an American singer and songwriter, who was most notably a lead vocalist in the experimental rock band the United States of America. Moskowitz and the band, though not too commercially successful, produced some of the earliest examples of electronic rock. Following the band's demise, Moskowitz continued her music career, and was a member of Country Joe's All-Star Band. Biography Early life Moskowitz attended a Jewish parochial school where she sang in fluent Hebrew. Julee Ann Cruise (December 1, 1956 – June 9, 2022) was an American singer, songwriter and actress, known for her collaborations with composer Angelo Badalamenti and film director David Lynch in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Young Marble Giants
Young Marble Giants were a Welsh post-punk band formed in Cardiff, Wales, in 1978. Their music was based around the vocals of Alison Statton along with the minimalist instrumentation of brothers Philip and Stuart Moxham. Their early sound was a sharp contrast with the more aggressive punk rock that dominated the underground at the time. Young Marble Giants released just one studio album, ''Colossal Youth'', in 1980. They also released two EPs and recorded a John Peel session.
