Colorado State Highway 64
State Highway 64 (SH 64) is a two-lane state highway connecting the towns of Dinosaur and Meeker in the western part of the U.S. state of Colorado. It is located in both Moffat and Rio Blanco counties. The western end of SH 64 is part of the Dinosaur Diamond Scenic Byway, while the eastern end is a junction with SH 13 near Meeker, Colorado. Its largest amount of traffic is 6600 near Rangely. It is classified as a Minor Rural Highway by the Colorado Department of Transportation. Route description The route begins at a junction with US 40 in Dinosaur where it is named Stegosaurus Freeway (despite the fact it is not a freeway), following the tradition of naming the roads in Dinosaur after names of dinosaurs. Dinosaur, Colorado
Dinosaur is a statutory town in Moffat County, Colorado, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population was 243, down from 339 at the 2010 census. Dinosaur is a part of the Craig, CO Micropolitan Statistical Area. The town of Dinosaur was originally known as "Baxter Springs", owned by Art and Fanny Baxter. It was renamed "Artesia" for its valued water supply when a town was platted to accommodate the oil boom in the 1940s. The current name was adopted in 1966, to capitalize on the town's proximity to Dinosaur National Monument. The Dinosaur National Monument headquarters is located just east of the town on U.S. Highway 40. Geography Dinosaur is located in the southwest corner of Moffat County at (40.241560, -109.008747). Vernal, Utah
Vernal, the county seat and largest city in Uintah County is in northeastern Utah, approximately east of Salt Lake City and west of the Colorado border. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 9,089. The population has since grown to 10,370 as of the 2018 population estimate. White River is a river, approximately long, in the U.S. states of Colorado and Utah and is a tributary of the Green River (which flows into the Colorado River). Description The river rises in two forks in northwestern Colorado in northeastern Garfield County in the Flat Tops Wilderness Area in the White River National Forest. Rangely is a Statutory Town in Rio Blanco County, Colorado, United States. The population was 2,365 at the 2010 census. Description The town is home to one of two campuses of the Colorado Northwestern Community College. A post office called Rangely was established in 1884.
