Colleen Tjosvold
Colleen Jenny Tjosvold (born 30 March 1989) is a Hong Kong rugby union and sevens player. She was named in Hong Kong's historic 2017 Rugby World Cup squad. It was their first appearance at a World Cup. Biography Tjosvold started playing rugby when she was 10. She graduated from Carleton College in 2011, she majored in Political Science and International Relations. She competed at the 2019 Hong Kong Women's Sevens, it was a World Rugby Sevens Series qualifier for the 2019–20 series. She was named in Hong Kong's squad for the 2019 Asia Pacific Championship in Fiji. The Hong Kong women's national rugby union team represents Hong Kong in women's rugby union. They played their first international match in 1998 against Japan. History Hong Kong made their World Cup debut at the 2017 Women's Rugby World Cup. Hong Kong competed at the 2019 Asia Pacific Championship in Fiji. Hong Kong People
Hongkongers (), also known as Hong Kongers, Hong Kongese, Hongkongese, Hong Kong citizens and Hong Kong people, typically refers to residents of the territory of Hong Kong; although may also refer to others who were born and/or raised in the territory. The earliest inhabitants of Hong Kong are indigenous villagers, who have lived in the area since before British colonization. Asia Rugby Women's Sevens Series
The Asia Rugby Women's Sevens Series is the regional championship for women's international rugby sevens in Asia. Initially contested as a single tournament, the championship was expanded into a two-tournament series in 2014. The competition is sanctioned and sponsored by Asia Rugby, which is the rugby union governing body for the region. The first official regional 7s championship for international women's teams from Asia was held in Hong Kong, played as part of the 2000 Hong Kong Sevens tournament. In 2003, ten international teams competed in a separate tournament for the Asia Champions Cup, with six teams progressing to the Hong Kong Women's Sevens. In sport, a cap is a player's appearance in a game at international level. The term dates from the practice in the United Kingdom of awarding a cap to every player in an international match of rugby football and association football. In the early days of football, the concept of each team wearing a set of matching shirts had not been universally adopted, so each side would distinguish itself from the other by wearing a specific sort of cap. 2019–20 World Rugby Women's Sevens Series
The 2019–20 World Rugby Women's Sevens Series was the eighth edition of the global circuit for women's national rugby sevens teams, organised by World Rugby. Only five of the originally scheduled eight tournaments were completed before the series was cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic. New Zealand was awarded the series title at the end of June 2020, leading by 16 points over second-placed Australia. The events planned for Hong Kong, Langford and Paris were postponed, before eventually being cancelled. Format Twelve nations competed at each event, drawn into three pools of four teams. The top-placed teams after the pool matches at each tournament played off for a Cup, with gold, silver and bronze medals also awarded to the first three teams.
