Colin Hodgson
Colin Sterling-Wyatt Hodgson (born June 8, 1990) is a Canadian curler originally from Lacombe, Alberta. He is the former lead for Team Mike McEwen and currently plays mixed doubles with Chelsea Carey. Career While briefly living in Calgary, Hodgson's junior years saw him skip the Alberta team at the 2011 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, finishing in sixth place with a 6–6 win–loss record. He also won a gold medal at the 2007 Canada Winter Games. Hodgson later moved to Airdrie, Alberta and played third for Charley Thomas for a year. Following that season, he moved to Winnipeg and joined Reid Carruthers as the lead on his new team in 2014. The team represented Manitoba at the 2015 Tim Hortons Brier, finishing in 10th place. While at the Brier, he won the Ford Hot Shots competition, taking home a 2015 Ford F-150 XLT. The next season the team won the 2016 Humpty's Champions Cup, Hodgson's first Grand Slam title. Jeff Stoughton
Jeffrey R. "Jeff" Stoughton (born July 26, 1963) is a Canadian retired curler. He is a three-time Brier champion and two-time World champion as skip. Stoughton retired from competitive curling in 2015. He is one of the most successful Manitoba skips in curling history, and one of the most successful players in Canadian curling history. He is currently the National Men's Coach and Program Manager for Curling Canada, as well as being the head coach of the Canadian Mixed Doubles National Team. Career Stoughton's first national championship came in 1988 when he won the Canadian Mixed Curling Championship. He won the mixed once again in 1991. 1991 was the same year Stoughton attended his first Brier. His team of Dave Iverson, Ken Tresoor and Garry VanDenBerghe finished 6-5. Ford F-150
The Ford F-Series is a series of light-duty trucks marketed and manufactured by Ford since the 1948 model year. Slotted above the Ford Ranger in the Ford truck model range, the F-Series is marketed as a range of full-sized pickup trucks. Ford Hot Shots
The Ford Hot Shots was the annual skills competition preceding both the Scotties Tournament of Hearts and the Tim Hortons Brier, Canada's women's and men's national curling championships respectively. The competition has not been held since 2018. History When Ford became a sponsor of the World Curling Championships in 1995, it also began a tradition of a skills competition preceding Canada's national championships. The change in competition format for the 2018 Tournament of Hearts and 2018 Brier led to a change in format for the Hot Shots. Fifteen teams would compete instead of individual curlers, with the winning team being awarded a cheque for $15,000 and one of four Hot Shots spectators winning the two-year lease on the Ford vehicle. 2015 Tim Hortons Brier
The 2015 Tim Hortons Brier was held from February 28 to March 8 at Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. In the final, the team of Pat Simmons, John Morris, Carter Rycroft and Nolan Thiessen, representing "Team Canada" as defending Brier champions defeated the reigning Olympic gold medallist Brad Jacobs rink, representing Northern Ontario. Simmons had to make a draw to the button in an extra end to win the championship. With the victory, the Simmons rink went on to represent Canada at the 2015 Ford World Men's Curling Championship in Halifax, where they won the bronze medal. Reid Carruthers
Reid Carruthers (born December 30, 1984) is a Canadian curler from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Carruthers was the 2011 world champion—winning gold as a second on Jeff Stoughton's team—as well as a six-time provincial champion, the 2003 junior provincial champion, and the 2008 Manitoba provincial mixed champion. Carruthers currently skips a Winnipeg-based rink on the World Curling Tour. He also coaches the Kerri Einarson women's team. Career As a junior curler, Carruthers skipped Manitoba at the 2003 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. He would lead the team to a 4-8 round robin record. After juniors, he skipped a team with Jason Gunnlaugson, Derek Samagalski and Tyler Forrest to a provincial final against Jeff Stoughton in 2006. Charley M. Thomas (born April 4, 1986 in Victoria, British Columbia) is a Canadian curler from Calgary who currently skips his own rink on the World Curling Tour. Curling career Thomas started his career with an Alberta Provincial Junior title in 2004 and made his debut on the national and international curling scene representing Alberta and winning the 2006 Canadian Junior Curling Championships (Thunder Bay, Ontario) and 2006 World Junior Curling Championships (Jeonju, Korea).
