Known as a time trial specialist, he excelled on the road and on the track, where he won a number of national and international events around the globe. Biography Born in Boulder, Colorado, Pearce began riding in the Red Zinger Mini Classics series for 10–15 year olds in 1988. He rode his first race at what was to become his "home track", the USOTC velodrome in Colorado Springs, in 1990. He competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, finishing 14th in the points race.
