Colby Gossett
Colby Gossett (born June 23, 1995) is an American football guard for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Appalachian State. Gossett was named to the first-team All-Sun Belt as a junior and senior. Professional career Minnesota Vikings Gossett was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the sixth round (213th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft. On May 3, 2018, he signed his rookie contract. He was waived on September 1, 2018 and was signed to the practice squad the next day. Arizona Cardinals On October 30, 2018, Gossett was signed by the Arizona Cardinals off the Vikings' practice squad. On August 31, 2019, the Cardinals released Gossett. Guard (American Football)
In gridiron football, a guard (G), otherwise known as an offensive guard (OG), is a player who lines up between the center and the tackles on the offensive line of a football team on the line of scrimmage used primarily for blocking. Right guards (RG) is the term for the guards on the right of the offensive line, while left guards (LG) are on the left side. Guards are to the right or left of the center. The guard's job is to protect the quarterback from the incoming linemen during pass plays, as well as creating openings (holes) for the running backs to head through.
