Col De Palaquit
The Col de Palaquit (altitude ) is a mountain pass situated in the Chartreuse Mountains in the Isère department of France, near the village of Sarcenas. The Tour de France cycle race crossed the col for the first time on Stage 13 of the 2014 race. The pass is located on the climb via the D512 from Grenoble to the Col de Porte which has been used regularly by the Tour de France. Col De Porte
The Col de Porte (elevation ) is a mountain pass situated in the Chartreuse Mountains in the Isère department of France, between Le Sappey-en-Chartreuse to the south and Saint-Pierre-de-Chartreuse to the north. It sits on the D512 between Grenoble and Chambéry, and prior to 1998 was often crossed in conjunction with the Col du Cucheron and the Col du Granier. To the east is Chamechaude, the highest summit in the Chartreuse Massif. There is a small ski resort situated near the col. Cycle racing The Col de Porte is regularly used in the Critérium du Dauphiné. In the sixth stage of the 1977 Critérium, Bernard Hinault fell on the descent from the Col de Porte leading to Grenoble when he was alone in the lead, 1'40" ahead of his competitors. Jakob Diemer Fuglsang (born 22 March 1985) is a Danish professional road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . 2014 Tour De France
The 2014 Tour de France was the 101st edition of the race, one of cycling's Grand Tours. The race included 21 stages, starting in Leeds, Yorkshire, United Kingdom, on 5 July and finishing on the Champs-Élysées in Paris on 27 July. The race also visited Belgium for part of a stage. Vincenzo Nibali of the team won the overall general classification by more than seven minutes, the biggest winning margin since 1997. By winning, he had acquired victories in all Grand Tours.
