''Coat of Arms'' is a 1937 Australian radio play by Alexander Turner. It was a comedy for two actors. The play was one of Turner's best known. The 1940 production starred Peter Finch and Muriel Steinbeck (the latter replacing Neva Carr Glynn). Reviewing this ''Wireless Weekly'' said "The quiet treatment.. amounted almost to tonelessness in some moments. To a rapt listener, however, such a lack of boisterousness indicates no lack of feeling." Alexander Turner (1907–1993) was an Australian poet, playwright, and theatre and radio producer. He was one of the leading Western Australian writers of the twentieth century. Turner was born in London and moved to Western Australia in 1925. He became one of the leading writers in Western Australia, working mostly in radio. Turner became a producer in 1946. Frederick George Peter Ingle Finch (28 September 191614 January 1977) was an English-Australian actor of theatre, film and radio. Born in London, he emigrated to Australia as a teenager and was raised in Sydney, where he worked in vaudeville and radio before becoming a star of Australian films. Muriel Myee Steinbeck (21 July 1913 – 20 July 1982) was an Australian actress who worked extensively in radio, theatre, television and film. She is best known for her performance as the wife of Sir Charles Kingsford Smith in '' Smithy'' (1946) and for playing the lead role in '' Autumn Affair'' (1958–59), Australia's first television serial.
