Club Veracruzano de Fútbol Tiburón is a Mexican professional football team based in Veracruz City, Mexico currently playing in Liga de Balompié Mexicano. History In December 2019, the C.D. Veracruz was disaffiliated from Liga MX, so initiatives began to emerge to occupy the space left by that club. In May 2020, the Liga de Balompié Mexicano confirmed its fifth founding franchise, named ''Club Veracruzano de Fútbol Tiburón''. On the next day, Diego Bartolotta was named as club president. Finally, on June 14, 2020 Gustavo Matosas was appointed as the club sports president. On July 11, 2020, Franco Arizala was announced as the first player in the team's history, however, he requested to remain playing until December at Alebrijes de Oaxaca, his team at that time. Liga de Balompié Mexicano is one of the professional football leagues in Mexico. It is the first division of the league system of the National Association of Mexican Football (ANBM in Spanish). The 2020–21 Liga de Balompié Mexicano season was the 1st professional season of the most important league of competitions organized by the Asociación Nacional del Balompié Mexicano, a Mexican football federation affiliated with CONIFA. Gustavo Cristian Matosas Paidón (born 25 May 1967) is an Argentine-born Uruguayan former professional footballer. Playing career Club The son of former footballer Roberto Matosas, Gustavo was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1967, as his father was playing for River Plate at the time. Alebrijes de Oaxaca Fútbol Club is a Mexican football team based in the city of Oaxaca, state of Oaxaca. They play in the second tier of Mexican football league, Liga de Expansión MX. The team was created when the Tecamachalco franchise won the Segunda División title and earned the promotion to the Ascenso MX. Due to poor infrastructure they were unable to participate, which led to the formation of the new Oaxaca franchise.
