Club San Luis
Club San Luis is an Argentine rugby union and field hockey club from the city of Tolosa in La Plata Partido, Buenos Aires Province. The rugby team currently plays in the Top 12, the first division of the Unión de Rugby de Buenos Aires league system. Likewise, the hockey team competes at the tournaments organised by the Buenos Aires Hockey Association (AHBA). San Luis' main rival is fellow ''platense'' club La Plata. History In 1960, La Plata's "Colegio San Luis" registered a team with the Unión de Rugby de Buenos Aires. A year later "Club San Luis" was founded and started playing friendly games, being Horacio Lascano its provisory president. Buenos Aires Cricket & Rugby Club, sometimes known simply as Buenos Aires, is an Argentine sports club based in San Fernando, Buenos Aires. History In 1971, the "Asociación de Ex alumnos del Colegio San Cirano" was created as a social club by former pupils of San Cirano College in Buenos Aires, being named Brian Healy as its first president. The Torneo Nacional de Clubes is a club rugby union competition in Argentina, organised by the Argentine Rugby Union (UAR). The Nacional de Clubes is the main club competition in Argentine rugby, being contested by a total of 16 teams, 8 from Buenos Aires and 8 from the rest of the provinces of Argentina. There is also a second division, "Nacional de Clubes B", with a similar format. History From 1993 to 2008, the competition involved 16 clubs, which were divided into four zones. The Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571 was a chartered flight from Montevideo, Uruguay, bound for Santiago, Chile, that crashed in the Andes mountains on October 13, 1972. The accident and subsequent survival became known as the Andes flight disaster () and the Miracle of the Andes (). While crossing the Andes during poor weather, the inexperienced co-pilot Lagurara was at the controls of the Fairchild FH-227D. He mistakenly believed the aircraft had reached Curicó where the flight would turn to descend into Pudahuel Airport. He failed to notice that instrument readings indicated he was still from Curicó. He began descending and the aircraft struck a mountain, shearing off both wings and the tail section. Old Christians Club, or simply Old Christians, is an Uruguayan sports club from the Carrasco neighbourhood of Montevideo. The club is known mostly for its rugby union team that became famous around the world due to the 1972 Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571 crash that involved the first division team of the club. Club Pueyrredón is an Argentine sports club from the Benavídez district of Tigre Partido in Buenos Aires Province. The rugby union senior squad currently plays in Primera División A, the second division of the Unión de Rugby de Buenos Aires (URBA) league system.
