Club Social Deportivo Estrella Azul (sometimes referred as Estrella Azul) is a Peruvian football club, playing in the city of Ventanilla, Callao, Peru. History The Club Estrella Azul was founded on May 4, 1974. In 2015 Copa Perú, the club classified to the Departamental Stage, but was eliminated by Cantolao in the Second Stage. In 2019 Copa Perú, the club classified to the Regional Stage, but was eliminated when finished in 47th place. In 2021 Copa Perú, the club classified to the National Stage, but was eliminated when finished in 8th place. Callao
Callao () is a Peruvian seaside city and Regions of Peru, region on the Pacific Ocean in the Lima metropolitan area. Copa Perú
The Copa Perú is a football tournament in Peru. Despite its name, it is not entirely an elimination-cup competition involving all Peruvian clubs, but rather a series of league tournaments leading to an elimination tournament, with regional league clubs as participants. It guarantees its winner promotion to the professional Liga 2. History In 1966, the First Division was named '' Descentralizado''; teams from outside the capital of Lima were allowed to participate in the professional first division. The following year, the Copa Perú began, in which all non-professional teams in Peru were allowed to compete, with the winner to gain promotion to the First Division. After playing many elimination rounds, once six teams were left in the competition, they played in a final round-robin tournament in Lima. Ventanilla District
Ventanilla is a district of the Constitutional Province of Callao in Peru, and one of the seven districts that comprise the port city of Callao. Covering more than half of the province's territory, it is Callao's largest district. The current mayor of Ventanilla is Pedro Carmelo Spadaro. It was officially established as a district on January 28, 1969. The first stone for the building of Ventanilla was placed on September 24, 1960, in what is now the Central Church of Ventanilla San Pedro Nolasco. This edition has featured a change, with the elimination of the Regional Stage and the inclusion of participants from all the Regions of Peru in the National Stage. Academia Cantolao
Academia Deportiva Cantolao is a Peruvian football club based in the city of Callao, Peru. However, the club is mostly known for its youth academy. Their football academy is considered one of the best in Peru. Academia Cantolao has educated many players who have gone on to play in the Torneo Descentralizado (Peruvian top-flight) and abroad, including many Peruvian international players. Probably their most recognized graduate is former Bayern Munich striker Claudio Pizarro, one of the greatest Peruvian players in history.
