Club Atlético Temperley is an Argentine sports club from the city of Temperley in Greater Buenos Aires. The club is mostly known for its football team, which currently plays in the Primera Nacional, the second division of the Argentine football league system. Apart from football, Temperley hosts various sports, such as athletics, basque pelota, basketball, boxing, futsal, field hockey, judo, roller skating, swimming, taekwondo and tennis. History Beginning The predecessor of Temperley was the ''Club de Foot-ball Centenario'' established in 1910 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Revolución de Mayo. Field Hockey
Field hockey is a team sport structured in standard hockey format, in which each team plays with ten outfield players and a goalkeeper. Teams must drive a round hockey ball by hitting it with a hockey stick towards the rival team's shooting circle and then into the goal. The match is won by the team that scores the most goals. 1932 Argentine Primera División
The 1932 Primera División was the 41st season of top-flight football in Argentina. It continued with both associations organising tournaments: the official AFA season, contested between March 13 and November 13, used the same format as the previous season: a double round-robin format with no relegation at the end of the tournament. The dissident Liga Argentina de Football (LAF, the professional one) started on March 20, with two relegations programmed although a change of rules determined that only Sportivo Palermo was relegated to the second division. Sportivo Barracas won the amateur Asociación Argentina de Football (AFA) title while River Plate won its second Primera División title after a decisive playoff against Independiente. Temperley is a district in Greater Buenos Aires, Argentina, located in the south of Lomas de Zamora Partido. History In 1854 the industrial and textile merchant George Temperley (born in 1823 in Newcastle upon Tyne, England) bought from the Marenco brothers 51 hectares between the present streets of Dorrego, Almirante Brown, Eva Perón and Lavalle, and built a country house there. On October 16, 1870, Temperley set aside land from his extensive property for the establishment of a community, and participated in the building of both the original Lomas de Zamora City Hall and the Temperley railway station, one of the largest in Greater Buenos Aires.
