Club Atlético Fénix
Club Atlético Fénix is an Argentine football club from Pilar, Buenos Aires Province. The team currently plays in the Primera B Metropolitana, the regionalised third division of the Argentine football league system. In 2013, Fénix won the playoff series after defeating Deportivo Español in the second game by 2–1. The first match finished 1–1 and thereby the squad was promoted to the upper division, Primera B Metropolitana. History The club was established on 25 April 1948 by a group of boys met at the bar owned by Guillermo García in Palermo district of Buenos Aires. The boys played football competing in local leagues and decided to found their own club, named "Club Atlético, Social y Deportivo Fénix". The name was chosen because the bar where the boys used to meet had been destroyed by fire in 1947. Cristian Gastón Fabbiani (born 3 September 1983 in Ciudad Evita) is an Argentine former professional footballer and current manager at Fenix de Pilar. Playing career Fabbiani comes from a family of footballers, he has 13 relatives from his father's side of the family who were professional footballers, including an uncle who played for Chile's national team, Óscar Fabbiani. During his period spent in Chile at Palestino, he was nicknamed ''El Ogro'' ( en, The Ogre) which was a reference to a goal celebration he used to make using a Shrek mask. Club Almirante Brown (mostly known simply as Almirante Brown) is an Argentine sports club headquartered in the San Justo district of La Matanza Partido, in Greater Buenos Aires. Chacarita is a ''barrio'' or neighborhood in the north-central part of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Located between Colegiales, Palermo, Villa Crespo, La Paternal and Villa Ortúzar, this is a quiet neighbourhood with tree-lined streets, a combination of vintage rowhouses and apartment buildings. Locally, it's probably best known for the 95 hectare (234.75 acre) Chacarita Cemetery. History The territories of this district belonged formerly to the Jesuits, who had small farms. The Primera D is one of two leagues that form the fifth division of the Argentine football league system. Made up of 11 clubs from Buenos Aires Province, the league is the only one that remains amateur. The other league at level five is the Torneo Federal C, where teams from regional leagues take part. Colegiales is a ''barrio'' or district in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Primera B Metropolitana is one of two professional leagues that form the third level of the Argentine football league system. The division is made up of 17 clubs mainly from the city of Buenos Aires and its metropolitan area, Greater Buenos Aires. Originally created as the second division, it became the third level after a restructuring of the system in 1985 that ended with the creation of Primera B Nacional, set as the second division since then.
