Close (We Stroke the Flames) is the second single from German synthpop group Camouflage's fourth album ''Bodega Bohemia ''Bodega Bohemia'' is the fourth studio album by German synthpop band Camouflage, released on April 26, 1993 by Metronome Musik. The band moved to Hamburg and began working on the album in mid-1992 following the release of the side-project EP '' Ar ...'', released in 1993. The song was remixed for single release, adding a much more radio-friendly drum and synth track to the mostly-acoustic album version. Lyrics The text refers to the resurgent Neo-Nazism in Germany at that time with sentences like "They're marching on with torches....The tale is told again" and the warning "And if we don't care, we end up all the same. Camouflage (band)
Camouflage is a German synth-pop trio consisting of lead singer Marcus Meyn (b. May 2, 1966), Heiko Maile and Oliver Kreyssig. Their only Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100 hit was "The Great Commandment (song), The Great Commandment", which reached No. 59 in early 1989, and spent three weeks at No. 1 on the Dance Club Songs chart. They also had two minor dance hits in 1989. History In 1983, Heiko Maile, Marcus Meyn, Oliver Kreyssig, and Martin Kähling, four friends from Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany, formed the band Licensed Technology. It was short lived, as Martin Kähling left in 1984. Soon after, the remaining three members renamed themselves "Camouflage", inspired by a Yellow Magic Orchestra song of the same name. ''Bodega Bohemia'' is the fourth studio album by German synthpop band Camouflage, released on April 26, 1993 by Metronome Musik. The band moved to Hamburg and began working on the album in mid-1992 following the release of the side-project EP '' Areu Areu''. The aim of the album was to return to an electronic presentation with as much influence from electronics as possible. The resulting album was not promoted well by Metronome, who only released the album and its three singles in Germany. ''Bodega Bohemia'' was the band's last album for the label. A metronome, from ancient Greek μέτρον (''métron'', "measure") and νομός (nomós, "custom", "melody") is a device that produces an audible click or other sound at a regular interval that can be set by the user, typically in beats per minute (BPM). Metronomes may include synchronized visual motion. Musicians use the device to practise playing to a regular pulse. A kind of metronome was among the inventions of Andalusian polymath Abbas ibn Firnas (810–887). In 1815, German inventor Johann Maelzel patented his mechanical, wind-up metronome as a tool for musicians, under the title "Instrument/Machine for the Improvement of all Musical Performance, called Metronome". Heiko Maile (born 12 January 1966) is a German musician and composer. He is best known as a member of the band Camouflage and as the composer for the score of the films '' The Wave'' and '' We Are the Night'' and won the Deutscher Fernsehpreis for best music in 2017. Biography Born in Sydney, Australia, Heiko Maile grew up in Bietigheim-Bissingen. His first musical steps were at a young age when he started taking classical guitar lessons. His career as a musician and producer began in 1983, as one of the founding members of the synthpop band Camouflage. In the 1990s, Maile founded with Marcus Meyn the music publishing company, Areu Areu. During this time, he met the music producer Mathias Willvonseder. They formed a long-term partnership, resulting in numerous commercials and films, which were often awarded prizes at festivals.
