Clevo () is a Taiwanese OEM/ ODM computer manufacturer which produces laptop computers exclusively. They sell barebone laptops chassis ( barebooks) to value-added resellers who build customized laptops for individual customers. History Clevo was founded in 1983 as Nan Tan Computer (NTC). In 1987, the company established its laptop computer business, with production starting in 1990. In 1992, NTC set up Clevo, a U.S. subsidiary which would distribute its laptops in the country. NTC later adopted the Clevo name for itself and first listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange in 1997. In 1999, Clevo merged with their subsidiary, Kapok, to increase efficiency. The Clevo X7200 is a 17.3" laptop computer manufactured by Clevo, released in September 2010. Unlike other laptops of the time, the X7200 is designed to run a desktop Intel Core i7 processor for LGA 1366 socket. The X7200 may be configured to use dual link video cards using either GeForce GTX, Nvidia GeForce GTX (Fermi architecture) in Scalable Link Interface, SLI or AMD Graphics, AMD (ATI) Radeon R900, Mobility Radeon 6970 in ATI Crossfire, Crossfire configuration. The X7200 has capacity for three hard drives, allowing various RAID configurations, including RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, and also RAID 10 if the optical drive is replaced by a fourth HDD. A Mobile PCI Express Module (MXM) is an interconnect standard for GPUs (MXM Graphics Modules) in laptops using PCI Express created by MXM-SIG. The goal was to create a non-proprietary, industry standard socket, so one could easily upgrade the graphics processor in a laptop, without having to buy a whole new system or relying on proprietary vendor upgrades. 1st generation configurations Smaller graphics modules can be inserted into larger slots, but type I and II heatsinks will not fit type III and above or vice versa.
