Clearwater Lake (Ontario)
Clearwater Lake is a lake in Ontario, Canada, located near Highway 11, north of the town of Orillia in Muskoka. It is adjacent to Washago and Coopers Falls. The lake has very clear water and a rocky/muddy and sandy bottom that is ideal for swimming and fishing. It is a typical Muskokan style lake with granite rocks protruding out of the water in some areas. Clearwater Lake is accessed by private roads that are maintained by local cottagers' associations. Orillia
Orillia is a city in Ontario, Canada. It is in Simcoe County between Lake Couchiching and Lake Simcoe. Although it is geographically located within Simcoe County, the city is a single-tier municipality. It is part of the Huronia region of Central Ontario. The population in 2021 was 33,411. It was incorporated as a village in 1867, but the history of what is today the City of Orillia dates back at least several thousand years. Archaeologists have uncovered evidence of fishing by the Huron and Iroquois peoples in the area over 4,000 years ago, and of sites used by Aboriginal peoples for hundreds of years for trading, hunting, and fishing. Known as the "Sunshine City", the city's large waterfront attracts many tourists to the area every year, as do a number of annual festivals and other cultural attractions. Cooper's Falls, Ontario
Cooper's Falls (or Coopers Falls) is a Dispersed rural community and unincorporated place in Township (Canada)#Ontario, geographic Rama Township in the municipality of Ramara, Simcoe County, in Central Ontario, Canada. The community is located at the eponymous Coopers Falls waterfall on the Black River (Severn River tributary), Black River, about northeast of the community of Washago on Ontario Highway 11, and is named after Thomas Cooper, the first settler. There are a few families living in Coopers Falls. History In 1864, Thomas James Cooper and his wife, Emma and three young children, emigrated to Canada on the steamship "Hector" from Fawkham, England.
