Claudio Gentile (politician)
Claudio Gentile (; born 27 September 1953) is an Italian football manager and former player who played as a defender in the 1970s and 1980s. Gentile appeared for Italy in two World Cup tournaments, and played for the winning Italian team in the 1982 final. His club career was notably spent with Juventus for whom he made almost 300 league appearances, winning six national titles and two major European trophies. Club career Gentile was born in Tripoli, Libya to parents from Noto, Sicily. He moved to Brunate, Lombardy with his family at the age of eight. After beginning his career with Arona, Gentile played in Serie B with Varese during the 1972–73 season. He then moved to Juventus and first played for them in a Coppa Italia match against Ascoli on 29 August 1973, with his Serie A debut following on 2 December 1973 against Verona. Tripoli, Libya
Tripoli (; ar, طرابلس الغرب, translit= Ṭarābulus al-Gharb , translation=Western Tripoli) is the capital and largest city of Libya, with a population of about 1.1 million people in 2019. It is located in the northwest of Libya on the edge of the desert, on a point of rocky land projecting into the Mediterranean Sea and forming a bay. The 1976–77 UEFA Cup was the sixth season of the UEFA Cup, a club association football, football competition organised by UEFA (the Union of European Football Associations). It was won by Italian club Juventus F.C., Juventus, who beat Athletic Bilbao of Spain in the two-legged final; both sides won one leg of the tie, which finished 2–2 on aggregate, but Juventus' solitary goal in the second leg at San Mamés Stadium (1913), San Mamés Stadium in Bilbao saw them win on away goals. Ascoli Calcio 1898 F.C., commonly referred to as Ascoli, is an Italian football club based in Ascoli Piceno, Marche. The club was formed in 1898 and currently plays in Serie B. The team traditionally play in vertical black and white stripes. The ("Italy Cup") is an annual knockout cup competition in Italian football organized by the FIGC until the 2009–10 season and the Lega Serie A ever since. History The beginning of the tournament was turbulent, due to the complexity of the participation of the teams in the tournament, since its inception in 1921, the Italian championship was divided into two groups. On the one hand the CCI Championship (Italian Football Confederation) and on the other the FIGC championship ( Italian Football Federation). These two championships were not organized between them, so they could not manage the dates that allowed the normal course of the tournament. The Serie B (), currently named Serie Balkrishna Industries, BKT for sponsorship reasons, is the second-highest division in the Italian football league system after the Serie A. Brunate
Brunate ( Comasco: ) is a town and ''comune'' in the province of Como in northern Italy, some northeast of Milan. It has some 1,800 residents, but is much more populated in summer, when tourists rent houses and apartments. The town overlooks Como, which lies on the shore of Lake Como some below. For a short time in the late 12th century Brunate was an independent commune, but in 1240 it reverted to the suzerainty of Como. Como and Brunate are linked by a steep, narrow, winding road, and by the Como to Brunate funicular.
