Claude Porter White
Claude Porter White (April 30, 1907 – March 16, 1975) was an American author and the composer of three operas, as well as other music. She was born in Cleburne, Texas, to Claude Scott Porter and Reverend David Knox Porter. After graduating from Southwestern University, she did graduate work in public school music at Northwestern University, and studied at the Aspen Music School and a composers' symposium in Dallas, Texas. On June 3, 1934, she married Claude L. White. They settled in Corsicana, Texas Corsicana is a city in Navarro County, Texas, United States. It is located on Interstate 45, 56 miles northeast of Waco, Texas. The population was 23,770 at the 2010 census. Cleburne, Texas
Cleburne is a city in and the county seat of Johnson County, Texas, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 29,337. The city is named in honor of Patrick Cleburne, a Confederate general. Lake Pat Cleburne, the reservoir that provides water to the city and surrounding area, is also named after him. History Cleburne is Johnson County's third county seat (the first being Wardville, now under Lake Pat Cleburne). Aspen Music Festival And School
The Aspen Music Festival and School (AMFS) is a classical music festival held annually in Aspen, Colorado. It is noted both for its concert programming and the musical training it offers to mostly young-adult music students. Founded in 1949, the typical eight-week summer season includes more than 400 classical music events—including concerts by five orchestras, solo and chamber music performances, fully staged opera productions, master classes, lectures, and children's programming—and brings in 70,000 audience members. Corsicana is a city in Navarro County, Texas, United States. It is located on Interstate 45, 56 miles northeast of Waco, Texas. The population was 23,770 at the 2010 census. History Founded in 1848, Corsicana was named by José Antonio Navarro after the Mediterranean island of Corsica, the birthplace of his father.
