Claude Duplain
Claude Duplain (born January 10, 1954) is a Canadian politician. He was elected as the Member of Parliament for Portneuf, as the candidate of the Liberal Party of Canada, during the 37th Parliament (which sat from January 2001 through May 2004). During that time he served as a member of the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food and the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage. Claude Duplain has been president of Construction du Grand Portneuf, a general construction company, since 1996. He is deeply involved in the economic development of the region of Portneuf. From 1993 to 1996, he was president and shareholder of Construction du Grand Portneuf. He was a project estimator and manager for the Joseph Linteau & Sons company (1992–1993) and also a manager for Magasin Rona in Saint-Raymond-de-Portneuf (1986–1992). Guy Côté (born December 30, 1965) is a Canadian politician and salesman. Côté was the Member of Parliament for the riding of Portneuf—Jacques-Cartier from 2004–2006. Born in Quebec City, Quebec, Côté has been involved in many non-profit organizations in Portneuf, among other things, serving as a School commissioner in Portneuf, Quebec (2003–2004) before being elected to the House of Commons of Canada in the 2004 federal election for the Bloc Québécois, a left-wing separatist party, in the riding of Portneuf—Jacques-Cartier. Côté is a former salesman. He worked briefly as a salesman for CKNa local radio station of his riding. He has also been assistant to the former Bloc MP of Portneuf. Saint-Raymond, also called Saint-Raymond de Portneuf, is a city in Quebec, Canada, located about north-west of Quebec City. It is the largest city in population and area of the Portneuf Regional County Municipality. Geography Saint-Raymond is located on either side of the Sainte-Anne River. The municipal territory extends far to the north and has a total area of 670 km2. Most of the municipality is made up of forests where several chalets are built.
