Class News
ClassTV was an Italian TV Channel launched in 2003 owned by Class Editori (who also own Class CNBC). The channel originally launched as an all-news channel and renamed before ''Class News msnbc'' on 6 September 2010 and after ''ClassTV MSNBC'' on 2 May 2011. It was later relaunched as an Italian news and movie channel before its closure. It was broadcast in Italy on DTT channel 27 on Mux ''Mediaset 2''. On 27 January 2015, the channel ceased transmission, and was replaced by a series of filter to promote Sky TG24's launch over the air. Programming Class CNBC, Class Life and Class TV Moda are the three television channels of Class Editori. As a whole they constitute a TV bouquet that is unique in Italy, both for the kind of content and products provided to the public both for the positioning of the channels. Sky TG24
Sky TG24 is Italy's second all-news channel, owned by Sky Italia. Launched on 31 July 2003, it provides non-stop rolling news, weather forecasts and sports stories with half-hourly updates. Overview Part of Sky TG24's programming is available on the television channels Cielo and TV8. In the United States, Sky TG24 is available on cable via RCN in Boston, Chicago, New York City, Philadelphia and Washington D.C.. From December 2004 to 7 December 2008 it was available via satellite on DirecTV. It was removed due to low subscriber levels. A local Canadian version of Sky TG24 airs in Canada. Weather Channel
The Weather Channel (TWC) is an American pay television channel owned by Weather Group, LLC, a subsidiary of Allen Media Group. The channel's headquarters are in Atlanta, Georgia. Launched on May 2, 1982, the channel broadcasts weather forecasts and weather-related news and analysis, along with documentaries and entertainment programming related to weather. A sister network, Weatherscan, was a digital cable and satellite service that offered 24-hour automated local forecasts and radar imagery. Weatherscan was officially shut down on December 9, 2022. Television in Italy was introduced in 1939, when the first experimental broadcasts began. However, this lasted for a very short time: when fascist Italy entered World War II in 1940 all transmissions were interrupted, and were resumed in earnest only nine years after the end of the conflict, on January 3, 1954. There are two main national television organisations responsible for most viewing: state-owned RAI, accounting for 37% of the total viewing figures in May 2014, and Mediaset, a commercial network which holds about 33%. In most telecommunications organizations, a virtual channel is a method of remapping the ''program number'' as used in H.222 Program Association Tables and Program Mapping Tables to a channel number that can be entered via digits on a receiver's remote control. Often, "virtual channels" are implemented in digital television, helping users to find a desired channel easily, or easing the transition from analogue to digital broadcasting in general. The practice of assigning virtual channels is most common in those parts of the world where TV stations were colloquially named after the RF channel they were transmitting on ("Channel 6 Springfield"), as it was common in North America during the analogue TV era.
