J.C. 'Clarrie' Ives (1890 – 25 February 1956) was an Australian rugby league footballer who played for the North Sydney club in the NSWRFL. Playing career A tough prop-forward, Ives started his first grade career with North Sydney as a 30-year-old in 1920 and was a member of the club's golden era of the early 1920s. Ives won two premierships with North Sydney in 1921 & 1922, and was club captain in his final season in 1924. Ives played at second-row in North Sydney's 1922 NSWRL grand final victory over Glebe at the Sydney Cricket Ground in which Norths won 35–3. He also played for New South Wales on ten occasions and Australia. He played in one test match for Australia in the second test against Great Britain during the 1924 Ashes series. Clarrie Prentice
Clarence Warwick Prentice (1 July 1891 – 10 March 1948) was an Australian rugby union and rugby league footballer who represented his country at both sports - a dual-code rugby international. He is the younger brother of fellow Wests player Ward Prentice. Rugby union career Prentice played rugby union with the Western Suburbs Rugby Club in Sydney and represented with the Wallabies as a prop in 1914 against the All Blacks. Rugby league career In 1915 Clarrie, and his brother Archie, joined the Western Suburbs Rugby League Club. His international rugby league debut against New Zealand in Wellington on 23 August 1919, alongside Claud O'Donnell saw them become Australia's 20th and 21st dual code rugby internationals. Clarence Percival "Clarrie" Polson was a New Zealand rugby league player who represented New Zealand. He debuted for New Zealand in 1920 and became Kiwi number 143. Personal life Clarrie Polson was born Clarence Percival Polson on 27 July 1900. His parents were Catherine (Kate) Polson (1860-1938), and Ole (Oliver) Polson (1856-1915). Catherine had been born in Ireland. He was the youngest of 11 children. His siblings were Mary Ann (b.1880), John (b.1882), Maggie (1884), Eliza Jane (b.1886), Dennis Oliver (b.1888), Andrew (b.1890), Eric (b.1892), Arthur Paul (b.1894), Annie (b.1896), and Amelia Gertrude (1899). Clarrie Nolan
Clarence Joseph Nolan (24 August 1904 – 18 January 1998) was an Australian rules footballer who played with North Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Nolan, was a Benalla and Shepparton recruit, who joined North Melbourne in 1925 and took part in their inaugural VFL season. He was North Melbourne's leading goal-kicker in 1928 with 24 goals, despite not registering his first goal until round nine. In 1928, Nolan won the ''Sporting Globe'' newspaper competition for the longest place kick, with a kick of 71 yards, 2 foot & 4 inches. In 1929, Nolan joined West Albury as captain-coach and kicked seven goals in their Ovens and Murray Football League grand final win against East Albury Football Club. Clarrie "Dido" Morelli (6 October 1906 – 19 May 1997), whose paternal grandfather Italian born, was an Australian rules footballer who played with Collingwood in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Morelli made the final list at Collingwood in 1926, but played out the season with the Fairfield Football Club Morelli played seven senior VFL games in 1927, making his debut against Richmond in round three and played in the Collingwood reserves in 1928. Early life The seventh of eleven children born to George Lonsdale (1866–1962) and Elizabeth Lonsdale (1868–1951), nee Moncrieff, Clarence Alexander Lonsdale was born in Berrigan, New South Wales on 13 September 1906. He was schooled in Henty, New South Wales and moved with his family to Cheltenham in Victoria when he was a teenager. Football Clarrie Lonsdale played for Cheltenham in the Federal Association for four years before getting recruited by Hawthorn. Clarence Lloyd "Clarrie" Lethlean (12 July 1900 – 18 July 1969) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Melbourne and Hawthorn in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Family The sixth of eight children born to Alexander Lethlean (1868–1943) and Emily Lethlean (1869–1943), nee Prisk, Clarence Lloyd Lethlean was born at Port Melbourne on 12 July 1900. Clarrie Lethlean married Elva Margaret Roemus in 1925 and they had three sons together. Football Lethlean, who started his career at Oakleigh, made nine appearances for Melbourne in the 1921 VFL season. He switched clubs during the 1922 season, joining Hawthorn in the Victorian Football Association. In 1925 he made a return to the VFL, with Hawthorn entering the competition.
