Clarkston RFC

	Clarkston RFC Clarkston RFC is a former rugby union team. It was based in Giffnock and Clarkston, East Renfrewshire. Created in 1937, it became Glasgow Southern in 1995. History Formation In 1937, Clarkston Rugby Club was formed, taking advantage of the local authority pitch and pavilion at Overlee Playing Fields. Clarkston played in red jerseys with white collars, black shorts and red socks. They were admitted to Glasgow District Rugby Union that same year. Clarkston was an "Open" club, created by a variety of former pupil rugby players who did not wish to undertake cross city travel to indulge in their sport. To highlight this: the first club chairman was a Glasgow Academical; the first President a Glasgow High Former Pupil; and the longest serving Club Captain and Coach, Andrew Williams a product of Allan Glen's. picture info	Giffnock Giffnock (; sco, Giffnock; gd, Giofnag, ) is a town and the administrative centre of East Renfrewshire in the Central Lowlands of Scotland. It lies east of Barrhead, east-southeast of Paisley and northwest of East Kilbride, at the southwest of the Greater Glasgow conurbation. 	Hutchesons Aloysians Hutchesons Aloysians RFC was an amateur rugby union club in Glasgow, Scotland. The club no longer exists. In 2002, they merged with Glasgow Southern to form Glasgow Hutchesons Aloysians RFC. History Formation The club was founded in 1990 with the merger of Hutcheson's GSFP and Old Aloysians. As a struggling club about to be demoted to Division 7 of the McEwan's National League; the Old Aloysions members approved the merger first. Hutcheson's GSFP were in Division 4 of the National League. Their EGM to approve the merger on 24 May 1990 was won by 57 votes to 8. The new club Hutchesons Aloysians would take Hutcheson's GSFP's place in the league in Division 4 of the McEwan's National League for the coming 1990–91 season.
