Clare Quilty (group)
Clare Quilty was an American musical group formed in Charlottesville, Virginia, in the United States, in 1994. Clare Quilty began as a pop-punk band but later material veered more toward electronica and trip hop. The band is named after a character in Vladimir Nabokov's 1955 novel, '' Lolita''. The group scored two chart hits in 2003, "Dex Dubious" (DBC Mix) (US #33 Club Play) and "Tremble" (US #44 Club Play). Charlottesville, Virginia
Charlottesville, colloquially known as C'ville, is an independent city in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Trip hop (sometimes used synonymously with "downtempo") is a musical genre that originated in the early 1990s in the United Kingdom, especially Bristol. Vladimir Vladimirovich Nabokov (russian: link=no, Владимир Владимирович Набоков ; 2 July 1977), also known by the pen name Vladimir Sirin (), was a Russian-American novelist, poet, translator, and entomologist. Born in Imperial Russia in 1899, Nabokov wrote his first nine novels in Russian (1926–1938) while living in Berlin, where he met his wife. ''Lolita'' is a 1955 novel written by Russian-American novelist Vladimir Nabokov. Richard Morel is an American singer-songwriter, DJ, remixer and record producer from the suburbs of Boston, Massachusetts. He has worked extensively with Washington D.C.-based duo Deep Dish, co-writing, co-producing, performing and singing on many of their tracks, most notably on their albums ''Junk Science'' and ''George Is On''. Richard Morel's songs are represented by Downtown Music Publishing. DCide is a privately held, Washington, D.C. based independent record label and distributor. The label was started in summer of 1995 by founding partners Jeffrey B. Clyburn, Burton Gray and Mark Thorp. Their first act Nothingface sold over 500,000 records worldwide and is widely recognized as one of the standard-bearers for the new metal genre.
