Clare Hendra
Clare Hendra is a New Zealand international lawn and indoor bowls player. Bowls career Hendra became a national champion after winning the fours event, playing with Sandra Keith, Selina Smith and Tayla Bruce, at the 2020 New Zealand National Bowls Championships. She was later named as the New Zealand Female Emerging player of the year. In 2022, she was selected by New Zealand as a reserve for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England. In January 2023, Hendra won a second national title, when winning the women's pairs title with Tayla Bruce. She then participated in her first World indoor bowls championship, competing in the singles and mixed pairs at the 2023 World Indoor Bowls Championship. Sandra Keith (born 1968) is a New Zealand women's international lawn bowler. Bowls career Sandra Keith is a four times National champion, winning the New Zealand National Bowls Championships singles in 2012, pairs in 2013 and 2022 and fours in 2020. Selina Goddard
Selina Goddard (sometimes called Selina Smith; born 23 July 1994) is a New Zealand international lawn bowls player, playing out of Takapuna Bowling Club. Bowls career Goddard was introduced to the sport at a young age through her parents, who were keen bowlers. She started playing bowls competitively at age 14, while attending Howick College in eastern Auckland. , she is based in Auckland, New Zealand. Goddard has been a part of numerous annual Trans-Tasman series. In 2013 she was first introduced to the New Zealand Under 18 Bowls Team. In 2014, she was then selected to play in the New Zealand Development Team for the annual Trans-Tasman match, where the ladies development team won series. Tayla Bruce (born 22 February 1995) is a New Zealand international lawn bowls player. Bowls career Born in Christchurch in 1995, Bruce plays for the Burnside Bowling Club. She won the 2017 national women's fours title, in a team with Jo Edwards, Val Smith, and Kirsten Edwards. At the annual Canterbury awards, she was named as sportswoman of the year and young player of the year. She was selected as part of the New Zealand team for the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in Queensland. A second national fours title was secured in 2020, playing alongside Sandra Keith, Clare Hendra, and Selina Smith. During the same year she was selected for the 2020 World Outdoor Bowls Championship in Australia but the event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2023 Imagine Cruising World Indoor Bowls Championship took place at Potters Resort, Potters Leisure Resort, Hopton-on-Sea, Great Yarmouth, England, from 6 to 22 January 2023. There were two preliminary round ties in the open singles, with Jason Banks (bowls), Jason Banks beating Darren Weir and Jon Wilson defeating Scott Edwards (bowls), Scott Edwards. This was first time that the open/men's singles final featured two unseeded players since seeds were introduced in 1988.
