Sandra Keith (born 1968) is a New Zealand women's international lawn bowler. Bowls career Sandra Keith is a four times National champion, winning the New Zealand National Bowls Championships singles in 2012, pairs in 2013 and 2022 and fours in 2020. The 2012 National singles win qualified her to play in the World Singles Champion of Champions in Cyprus, where she won the gold medal. Bowls
Bowls, also known as lawn bowls or lawn bowling, is a sport in which the objective is to roll biased balls so that they stop close to a smaller ball called a "jack" or "kitty". It is played on a bowling green, which may be flat (for "flat-green bowls") or convex or uneven (for "crown green bowls"). It is normally played outdoors (although there are many indoor venues) and the outdoor surface is either natural grass, artificial turf or cotula (in New Zealand). World Singles Champion Of Champions
The World Singles Champion of Champions is an event inaugurated in 2003 that is contested annually between bowlers who have won their respective national singles title. The event was first held in 2003 at the Moama Bowling Club in Moama, Australia. Traditionally the competition favours the Southern Hemisphere players due to the fact that the Northern Hemisphere players have to travel to the event and compete on faster greens. No male player has managed to win the title a second time and the only female to achieve two wins is Jo Edwards of New Zealand. Asia Pacific Bowls Championships
The Asia Pacific Bowls Championships formerly the Pacific Rim Championships was a bowls, lawn bowling competition held between national bowls organisations in the Asia Pacific region. The event was inaugurated in 1985, and it was initially held every two years but then took place every four years and was a qualifying event for the World Bowls Championship, World Outdoor Bowls Championships. In 2021, the 2020 World Outdoor Bowls Championship was officially cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. World Bowls then decided that the World Championships would take place every two years starting in 2023.
