Fungus
A fungus ( : fungi or funguses) is any member of the group of eukaryotic organisms that includes microorganisms such as yeasts and molds, as well as the more familiar mushrooms. These organisms are classified as a kingdom, separately from the other eukaryotic kingdoms, which by one traditional classification include Plantae, Animalia, Protozoa, and Chromista. A characteristic that places fungi in a different kingdom from plants, bacteria, and some protists is chitin in their cell walls. Fungi, like animals, are heterotrophs; they acquire their food by absorbing dissolved molecules, typically by secreting digestive enzymes into their environment. Fungi do not photosynthesize. Growth is their means of mobility, except for spores (a few of which are flagellated), which may travel through the air or water. Fungi are the principal decomposers in ecological systems. These and other differences place fungi in a single group of related organisms, named the ''Eumycota'' (''true f ...

Chytridiomycota
Chytridiomycota are a division of zoosporic organisms in the kingdom Fungi, informally known as chytrids. The name is derived from the Ancient Greek ('), meaning "little pot", describing the structure containing unreleased zoöspores. Chytrids are one of the early diverging fungal lineages, and their membership in kingdom Fungi is demonstrated with chitin cell walls, a posterior whiplash flagellum, absorptive nutrition, use of glycogen as an energy storage compound, and synthesis of lysine by the -amino adipic acid (AAA) pathway. Chytrids are saprobic, degrading refractory materials such as chitin and keratin, and sometimes act as parasites. There has been a significant increase in the research of chytrids since the discovery of ''Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis'', the causal agent of chytridiomycosis. Classification Species of Chytridiomycota have traditionally been delineated and classified based on development, morphology, substrate, and method of zoöspore discharge. Howeve ...

Chytridiomycetes
Chytridiomycetes () is a class of fungi. Members are found in soil, fresh water, and saline estuaries. They are first known from the Rhynie chert. It has recently been redefined to exclude the taxa Neocallimastigomycota and Monoblepharidomycetes, which are now a phylum and a sister-class respectively. Chytridiomycetes is the major class of the phylum Chytridiomycota, which contains a number of parasitic Parasitism is a close relationship between species, where one organism, the parasite, lives on or inside another organism, the host, causing it some harm, and is adapted structurally to this way of life. Cladochytriales
Cladochytriales is an order of chytrid fungi. It is the only order in the monotypic class Cladochytriomycetes. The order was described in 2009 to accommodate a monophyletic clade containing many genera of chytrid fungi often observed growing over decaying plant tissue and other cellulosic substrates from aquatic habitats and humid soils. Taxonomy The 2022 taxonomy of fungi places 5 families and 3 uncertain genera in Cladochytriales: *Family Catenochytridiaceae **'' Catenochytridium'' *Family Cladochytriaceae **''Cladochytrium'' *Family Endochytriaceae **'' Diplophlyctis'' **'' Endochytrium'' *Family Nowakowskiellaceae **''Nowakowskiella ''Nowakowskiella'' is the sole genus of fungi in the family ''Nowakowskiellaceae''. The genus was circumscribed by German mycologist Joseph Schröter in 1897, while the family was originally circumscribed by Frederick Kroeber Sparrow in 1942, a ...'' *Family Septochytriaceae **'' Septochytrium'' *''incertae sedis'' **'' ...

Cladochytriaceae
The Cladochytriaceae are a family of fungi in the order Cladochytriales. Taxonomy According to a 2008 estimate, the family contained 10 genera and 38 species. However, the 2022 taxonomy of fungi places only one genus, ''Cladochytrium'', making the family monotypic. Regarding the genera previously included, '' Amoebochytrium'' and '' Septochytrium'' were moved into their separate families, '' Saccopodium'' was moved into its separate order, and '' Megachytrium'' remains uncertain within the class Chytridiomycetes Chytridiomycetes () is a class of fungi. L Nowakowski
L, or l, is the twelfth letter in the Latin alphabet, used in the modern English alphabet, the alphabets of other western European languages and others worldwide. Its name in English is ''el'' (pronounced ), plural ''els''. History Lamedh may have come from a pictogram of an ox goad or cattle prod. Some have suggested a shepherd's staff. Use in writing systems Phonetic and phonemic transcription In phonetic and phonemic transcription, the International Phonetic Alphabet uses to represent the lateral alveolar approximant. English In English orthography, usually represents the phoneme , which can have several sound values, depending on the speaker's accent, and whether it occurs before or after a vowel. The alveolar lateral approximant (the sound represented in IPA by lowercase ) occurs before a vowel, as in ''lip'' or ''blend'', while the velarized alveolar lateral approximant (IPA ) occurs in ''bell'' and ''milk''. This velarization does not occur in many European langu ...
