Civic Democratic Forum
Civic Democratic Forum ( sr, Грађански демократски форум, Građanski Demokratski forum, GDF) is a liberal political party in Serbia. It was founded in 2019 by former members of the Movement of Free Citizens (PSG). It has positioned itself as a party that opposes the rule of Aleksandar Vučić, although it has also criticized other opposition parties. History When Saša Janković resigned as president of Movement of Free Citizens, candidates for his successor were actor Sergej Trifunović and Aleksandar Olenik. The interim president was Rade Veljanovski. When Trifunović won with 60% of the vote, Veljanovski, Olenik, and several other members left the movement. On 2 March 2019, they formed Civic Democratic Forum. In April 2019, they signed an cooperation agreement with Party of Modern Serbia. The Movement of Free Citizens ( sr-cyrl, Покрет слободних грађана, Pokret slobodnih građana, PSG) is a liberal political organization in Serbia. History Saša Janković was in the position of state ombudsman, and as such, he often criticized practices of the government, led by SNS and Vučić. This positioned him among voters as opposition spokesperson and led to him enjoying relatively high ratings in relation to actual opposition leaders and politicians. As his term was about to end, he decided to resign and run in the presidential elections, scheduled for April 2017. His most notable endorsement came from the Democratic Party, which decided to support Janković, rather than to have a candidate of its own. The League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina ( sr-cyrl, Лига социјалдемократа Војводине, Liga socijaldemokrata Vojvodine, LSV) is an autonomist political party in Serbia. Biljana Stojković
Biljana Stojković ( sr-cyrl, Биљана Стојковић; born 6 October 1972) is a Serbian biologist, activist, and professor at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Biology. Stojković was the candidate of the We Must coalition in the 2022 presidential election. Early life Stojković was born on 6 October 1972 in Belgrade, SR Serbia, SFR Yugoslavia. She attended the Zemun Gymnasium, and in 1991, she enrolled into the Faculty of Biology at the University of Belgrade. She graduated in 1996, and in 1999 she received her master's degree. At one point, Stojković stayed in Switzerland in 1999, and there, she was offered to finish her postgraduate studies at the University of Basel, although she declined the offer and instead, she finished the studies in Belgrade. 2022 Belgrade City Assembly Election
Local elections were held in Belgrade on 3 April 2022 to elect members of the City Assembly. Alongside the election, national-level general elections and local elections in 12 other towns and municipalities were held on the same day. We Must (Serbia)
We Must ( sr-cyrl, Морамо, Moramo; stylised as Moramo,) is a parliamentary group in the City Assembly of Belgrade. It took part as a political coalition in the 2022 Serbian general election. Initially formed in November 2021, when Together for Serbia (ZZS), Do not let Belgrade drown (NDB) and Ecological Uprising (EU) signed an agreement to participate in the 2022 general election under a joint list, it was formalised as a coalition in January 2022. Its representatives had previously played a major role during the 2021–2022 environmental protests. The coalition won 4.7% of the popular vote and managed to cross the electoral threshold, while its presidential candidate, Biljana Stojković, won 3.3% of the popular vote. 2022 Serbian General Election
General elections were held in Serbia on 3 April 2022 to elect both the president and members of the National Assembly. Initially, parliamentary elections were scheduled to be held in 2024; however, in October 2020 president Aleksandar Vučić stated that snap parliamentary elections would be held in or before April 2022. In addition to the general elections, local elections were held simultaneously in 12 municipalities and 2 cities, including Belgrade. Nebojša Zelenović ( sr-cyr, Небојша Зеленовић; born 15 July 1975) is a Serbian politician who served as mayor of Šabac from 2014 to 2020. A former member of the Democratic Party, he presided over the Together for Serbia party from 2016 to 2022, and is now a co-leader of the Together party.
