City Of Hervey Bay
The City of Hervey Bay was a local government area located in the Wide Bay–Burnett region of Queensland, Australia, containing the urban centre of Hervey Bay as well as the northern half of Fraser Island. The City covered an area of , and existed as a local government entity in various forms from 1879 until 2008, when it was amalgamated with the City of Maryborough, Shire of Woocoo and the 1st and 2nd divisions of the Shire of Tiaro to form the Fraser Coast Region. History The area now known as City of Hervey Bay first received local government with the ''Divisional Boards Act 1879'', where on 11 November 1879, the Antigua (population 1636) and Burrum (population 1511) Divisions were created. A later division, Howard, was split away from the Division of Isis in 1900. The Shire of Kilkivan was a local government area about north-northwest of Brisbane, the state capital of Queensland, Australia. The shire covered an area of , and existed from 1886 until its merger with several other local government areas to form the Gympie Region on 15 March 2008. Shire Of Biggenden
The Shire of Biggenden was a local government area located in the northern catchment of the Burnett River, Queensland, Australia, south-southwest of the regional city of Bundaberg. The shire covered an area of , and existed as a local government area from 1905 until 2008, when it amalgamated with several other shires to become the North Burnett Region. Primary production is the most significant industry in the region with beef and dairy cattle being predominant. Other agricultural pursuits include grain crops, piggeries, peanuts, citrus and timber. The area is also rich in minerals. Biggenden Mine is located from Biggenden along the Isis Highway. Gold, bismuth and more recently magnetite have been extracted from the mine.
