City-S-Bahn
The City S-Bahn is a 5,380 metre-long tunnel section of the Hamburg S-Bahn. It runs between Altona station and Hamburg Hauptbahnhof through the city centre of Hamburg and the districts of Altona and St. Pauli. The S-Bahn lines S1, S2 and S3 of the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund (Hamburg Transport Association) run through the tunnel. Seven S-Bahn stations are located in the tunnel, including the tourist-oriented stations of Landungsbrücken and Reeperbahn. Route The tunnel begins directly after the Hauptbahnhof where its two tracks branch off the Hamburg-Altona link line and immediately dive under it. The ramp has a maximum gradient of 3.94%, since only a few hundred metres from the beginning of the tunnel it begins to run under the Inner Alster Lake to Jungfernstieg station, which is built under the lake. Hamburg S-Bahn
The Hamburg S-Bahn is a suburban commuter railway network in the Hamburg Metropolitan Region. Together, the S-Bahn, the Hamburg U-Bahn, the AKN railway and the regional railway form the backbone of railway public transport in the city and the surrounding area. The network has operated since 1907 as a commuter rail system, under the direction of the state railway, and is a member of the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund (HVV; Hamburg Transport Association). There are six lines, serving 68 stations, on of route. On an average working day the S-Bahn transports about 590,000 passengers; in 2010 about 221 million people used the S-Bahn. Berliner Tor Station
Berliner Tor (; literally "Berlin Gate") is a transport hub in Hamburg, Germany, served by the Hamburg U-Bahn (underground railway) and the Hamburg S-Bahn (suburban railway). The station is located in St. Georg, part of the borough of Hamburg-Mitte. The railway station is listed by the German railway company, because S-Bahn call at this station, and the S-Bahn part of it is managed by DB Station&Service. Reeperbahn Station
Reeperbahn is a Hamburg S-Bahn station in St. Pauli, Hamburg, Germany, located at the eastern end of the Reeperbahn. Reeperbahn station is part of the City S-Bahn tunnel from Hamburg main station in St. Georg to Hamburg-Altona station in Altona, and opened on 21 April 1979. Station layout The underground station consists of two levels with a mezzanine and a station level with one island platform, two tracks and two exits. Hamburg-Altona–Kiel Railway
The Hamburg-Altona–Kiel railway ( da, link=no, Christian VIII. Østersø Jernbane) is the oldest railway line in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein, and the first railway in Denmark or its dependencies at the time, and first to reach the Baltic Sea. Hamburg-Altona Link Line
The Hamburg-Altona link line (german: Hamburg-Altonaer Verbindungsbahn) is a railway line in Hamburg, Germany. It now connects the lines from the north and west of Hamburg and Altona station with Hamburg Hauptbahnhof and the lines to the south and east. It was initially designed as a freight line only but is it now one of the busiest lines in Germany. Hamburg-Altona (or simply Altona) is a railway station in Hamburg, Germany, situated to the west of the city's main station, in the district which bears its name. A main line terminal station, most Intercity-Express (ICE) services to and from southern Germany begin and terminate at Hamburg-Altona. The Reeperbahn () is a street and entertainment district in Hamburg's St. Pauli district, one of the two centres of Hamburg's nightlife (the other being Sternschanze) and also the city's major red-light district.
