Citizens (radio Series)
''Citizens'' was a radio drama series, which aired twice a week from 27 October 1987 to 25 July 1991. There were 338 twenty-five-minute episodes and it was broadcast on BBC Radio 4. It was created by Marilyn Imrie and A.J. Quinn. BBC Radio 4 is a British national radio station owned and operated by the BBC that replaced the BBC Home Service in 1967. It broadcasts a wide variety of spoken-word programmes, including news, drama, comedy, science and history from the BBC's headquarters at Broadcasting House, London. The station controller is Mohit Bakaya. Kate Duchêne ( (born Catherine Anne Purves Duchêne, 5 January 1959) is an English actress best known for her role as the teacher Miss Hardbroom in the adaptation of the children's books ''The Worst Witch''. Career Duchêne started to act at the age of 14. Russell Boulter (born 7 April 1963 in Liverpool) is an English actor and documentary narrator. He is a communications coach. Career As a teenager he was one of the original members of the Concrete Theatre Company which toured several theatre productions across the North West of England in pubs, schools and theatres. He played the Kid in ''Gimme Shelter'', Mark in ''Kennedy's Children'', and starred in ''Sam o Shanker'', ''The Puny Little Life Show'', ''Steve Vortex and the Land Beyond Time'', ''So You Think You're Supposed to Win?'', the 1984 ''Minus 2 Show'' and ''The Fosdyke Saga''. James MacPherson (actor)
James MacPherson (born 18 March 1960) is a Scottish actor, best known for his role as Detective Chief Inspector Michael Jardine in the STV drama, ''Taggart''. Early life MacPherson was raised in South Lanarkshire. He left Hamilton Grammar School at 17 and got a job as a laboratory technician at the Institute of Neurosciences at the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow. Part of his job was to collect brain samples for experimentation. MacPherson worked in the lab for five years and met his future wife Jacqueline while he was there. MacPherson went for an interview to be a police officer, but soon realised that he did not have the requisite personality for the job. It was then that his thoughts turned to acting. He joined an amateur dramatic group in Motherwell, before moving on to a repertory theatre in East Kilbride and a place in drama school. Seeta Indrani (born 20 April 1963) is an English dancer and actress. Biography Performance After graduation as a dancer from the London Contemporary Dance School, Indrani took the role of Cassandra in the original 1981 West End theatre, West End production of ''Cats (musical), Cats'' by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Brian Trevor John Murphy (born 25 September 1932) is an English actor and comedian. He is best known as the henpecked husband George Roper in the popular sitcom ''Man About the House'' and its spin-off series ''George and Mildred'', and as Alvin Smedley in ''Last of the Summer Wine''. Marilyn Elsie Imrie (20 November 1947 – 21 August 2020) was a Scottish theatre and radio drama director and producer. Career Marilyn Imrie worked in drama and broadcasting in Scotland and England for over thirty years as a producer and director, for the BBC, ITV and the independent companies Absolutely Productions, Bona Broadcasting, CBL, CIM, Kindle Entertainment and Sweet Talk.
