Beverly Hills (born 23 March 1966) is a British actress and television presenter. She is known for her many roles in BBC dramas and in children's TV. Career Drama From October 1987 to July 1991, Hills played Julia Brennan in BBC Radio 4's drama series ''Citizens''. Hills has played many roles across the BBC since the early 90s. She has played Kate Warren in ''Backup'', Tina in '' Knights & Emeralds'', Elaine Davies-Johnson in ''Brookside'', Liz Walton in ''Accused'', Monika Gaye in ''Peak Practice'', Shirley Slipman in ''The Bill'', Viv Kelly in ''Dalziel and Pascoe'' and she has also appeared in ''Casualty'', ''Holby City'', ''Silent Witness'', New Tricks and '' Waking the Dead''. Children's TV Hills has spent a lot of time in children's television, with a career of presenting and writing for Children's BBC. Frimley is a town in the Borough of Surrey Heath in Surrey, England, approximately southwest of central London. The town is of Saxon origin, although it is not listed in Domesday Book of 1086. Train services to Frimley (on the line between Ascot and Aldershot), are operated by South Western Railway. History The name ''Frimley'' is derived from the Saxon name ''Fremma's Lea'', which means "Fremma's clearing". The land was owned by Chertsey Abbey from 673 to 1537 and was a farming village. More recently it was a coach stop on a Portsmouth and popular Southampton road for about four hundred years. Frimley was not listed in Domesday Book of 1086, but is shown on the map as ''Fremely'', its spelling in 933 AD. ''Silent Witness'' is a British crime drama television series produced by the BBC, which focuses on a team of forensic pathology experts and their investigations into various crimes. First broadcast in 1996, the series was created by Nigel McCrery, a former murder squad detective based in Nottingham. Twenty-five series of ''Silent Witness'' have been broadcast since 1996. Amanda Burton starred as primary character Dr. Sam Ryan before leaving the show during the eighth series. ''Magic Grandad'' is an educational programme which originally aired on the BBC Two Schools section Watch during 1995. The show saw Magic Grandad, played by Geoffrey Bayldon, take his young grandchildren, played by Kristy Bruce and James Moreno, back in time to see historical events and people such as the Great Fire of London or Florence Nightingale.
