Citizens (Friuli Venezia Giulia Political Party)
Citizens ( it, Cittadini) is a centrist Italian civic list active in Friuli-Venezia Giulia since 2003. The list is the expression of the cultural and political association "Una Regione in Comune". History In the 2003 regional election which saw the election of Riccardo Illy, the list, that supported his candidacy for President, won 7.5% of the vote. In the 2008 regional election the list won 5.1% of the vote. As Illy was defeated, it changed its name to Civic Freedom (''Libertà Civica'') in order to reflect its new condition. The party ran in the 2013 regional election as ''Citizens for Debora Serracchiani President'' and won 5.3% of the vote and 3 seats, being instrumental in Debora Serracchiani's election, while in the 2018 regional election it ran as ''Citizens for Bolzonello President'', winning the 4% of the vote and 2 seats. Trieste ( , ; sl, Trst ; german: Triest ) is a city and seaport in northeastern Italy. The 2018 Friuli-Venezia Giulia regional election took place on 29 April 2018, to elect the President and the Regional council of the Italian autonomous region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Debora Serracchiani
Debora Serracchiani (born 10 November 1970) is an Italian politician. Born in Rome, she is a member of Democratic Party, and was president of the Italian region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. In 2016, she proposed and got the approval of a regional law which officially abolished provinces of the Friuli Venezia Giulia, moving their competences to the lower and the upper administrative level, which were respectively the Italian '' comune'' and the '' region''. Friuli Venezia Giulia was the first region to implement the 2014 Delrio national law. Serracchiani served as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) of the European Parliament from 2008-13 as a member of the PD. She was also a member of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats, an alliance within the European Parliament. The 2013 Friuli-Venezia Giulia regional election took place on 21–22 April 2013 in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of Italy. Debora Serracchiani, Socialist MEP and regional leader of the Democratic Party (PD), narrowly defeated incumbent Renzo Tondo of The People of Freedom (PdL) 39.4% to 39.0%; Saverio Galluccio of the Five Star Movement (M5S) came third with 19.2% of the vote. Riccardo Illy
Riccardo Illy (born 24 September 1955) is an Italian businessman and former politician. Biography Riccardo Illy was born in Trieste, Friuli-Venezia Giulia. His paternal grandfather, Francesco Illy, was of Hungarian origin. He's Waldensian. As a young man Illy worked as a skiing instructor at Piancavallo and a sailing instructor at Monfalcone. He married Rossana Bettini, food and wine journalist, at a young age. They have a daughter Daria who is now a Physical Education teacher and personal trainer. Illy started work in the family's coffee making firm illycaffè in 1977, which was founded by his grandfather in 1933.
