''Circle'' is the fifth studio album by the Japanese girl idol girl group Onyanko Club. It was released in Japan on August 5, 1987. It is the only album from the group released by Kirigirisu Records, a label established for the group and owned jointly by Canyon Records, For Life Records, CBS/Sony Records and EPIC/Sony Records. Onyanko Club
was a large all-girl Japanese pop idol group in the 1980s. Some members of the group participated in spin-off groups, such as Nyangilas, Ushiroyubi Sasaregumi and Ushirogami Hikaretai. Many of the latter two groups' songs were used as theme songs of the popular 80s anime series ''High School! Kimengumi'' and ''Tsuide ni Tonchinkan''. Several big-name idols stemmed from the group; one of the best known being Shizuka Kudo. The group was produced by Hiroshi Ishida and Kazuji Kasai, both of whom were producers of Fuji TV's show ''Yūyake Nyan Nyan.'' Sanae Jōnouchi
Sanae Kimura (; born 17 May 1968), known by her birth name of Sanae Jōnouchi (), is a Japanese enka singer, actress and radio presenter. Life and career Born in Kamisu, while in her second year of junior high school Jōnouchi made her singing debut participating in the 'All Japan Enka Championship', a music competition organized by Tokyo 12 Channel (now TV Tokyo) and CBS Sony. In 1985 she entered the popular idol group Onyanko Club, and in 1986 she made her solo record debut with the single ''Ajisai-bashi''; the song topped the Oricon Singles Chart, the first song in the enka genre to achieve this result. Ushirogami Hikaretai
Ushirogami Hikaretai (うしろ髪ひかれ隊) was a Japanese idol J-pop band, active from 1987 to 1988. It was the third sub-group of Onyanko Club, consisting of three of its members: Shizuka Kudō, Akiko Ikuina, and Makiko Saitō, the group debuted during the "Onyanko Yumekojo Sailing 87'" tour. Biography In April 1987, a new sub-group, Ushirogami Hikaretai, was formed to replace Ushiroyubi Sasaregumi, which was disbanded when Mamiko Takai graduated from Onyanko Club, and Shizuka Kudō, Akiko Ikuina, and Makiko Saitō were selected as its members. Initially, was to be selected over Saitō, but it was concluded that Kaise was not suitable to be a member. At the time of its formation, Ikuina was considered the main figure. Yukiko Iwai (Onyanko Club)
, also known by the nickname , is a Japanese singer and actress born 26 May 1968 in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Iwai was a member of the all-girl pop group Onyanko Club (from 21 June 1985 until 31 August 1987), and she was the shortest of all the members at 150 centimetres (4 ft 11 in). She was also half of the pop group Ushiroyubi Sasaregumi, a spin-off group of Onyanko Club.
