Chế A Nan
Jaya Ananda or Chế A Nan was made the king of Champa after Che Nang fled. He won Champa's independence against Tran Minh Tong in 1326.Maspero, G., 2002, The Champa Kingdom, Bangkok: White Lotus Co., Ltd., He was originally from Trần dynasty but had reached high military ranks in Champa, and thus succeeded to the throne. After he died in 1336, his Cham brother-in-law Tra Hoa Bo De fought the legitimate heir, Che Mo, for the throne for 6 years. In 1342, Che Mo fled to the court of Tran Du Tong (where he died soon after a failed expedition to restore him to the Champa throne in 1353), Tra Hoa Bo De became king of Champa in that year. Đại Việt (, ; literally Great Việt), often known as Annam ( vi, An Nam, Chữ Hán: 安南), was a monarchy in eastern Mainland Southeast Asia from the 10th century AD to the early 19th century, centered around the region of present-day Hanoi, Northern Vietnam. Odoric Of Pordenone
Odoric of Pordenone, OFM (1286–1331), also known as Odorico Mattiussi/Mattiuzzi, Odoricus of Friuli or Orderic of Pordenone, was an Italian late-medieval Franciscan friar and missionary explorer. He traveled through India, the Greater Sunda Islands, and China, where he spent three years in Beijing. After his death, he became an object of popular devotion and was beatified in 1755. Odoric wrote a narrative of his travels, which has been preserved in Latin, French, and Italian manuscripts. It includes accurate descriptions of Asian social and religious customs. His account was an important source for the account of John Mandeville. Many of the incredible reports in Mandeville have proven to be garbled versions of Odoric's eyewitness descriptions. Champa (Cham: ꨌꩌꨛꨩ; km, ចាម្ប៉ា; vi, Chiêm Thành or ) were a collection of independent Cham polities that extended across the coast of what is contemporary central and southern Vietnam from approximately the 2nd century AD until 1832, when it was annexed by the Vietnamese Empire under its emperor Minh Mạng.
