Châteauguay (provincial Electoral District)
Châteauguay is a provincial riding (electoral district) in the Montérégie region of Quebec, Canada, that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It notably includes the city of Châteauguay. It was originally created in 1867 (and an electoral district of that name existed earlier in the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada). Its final election was in 1936. It disappeared in the 1939 and its successor electoral district was Châteauguay-Laprairie. However, Châteauguay-Laprairie only existed for one election. Châteauguay was re-created for the 1944 election. In the change from the 2001 to the 2011 electoral map, it lost Sainte-Catherine to the newly created Sanguinet electoral district. Sanguinet is a provincial electoral district in the Montérégie region of Quebec, Canada which elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It consists of the municipalities of Sainte-Catherine, Saint-Constant, Saint-Mathieu, and Saint-Rémi. Beauharnois is a provincial electoral district in the Montérégie region of Quebec, Canada that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. The district notably include the city of Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. It was created in 2001 from parts of Beauharnois-Huntingdon, Châteauguay and Salaberry-Soulanges. In the change from the 2001 to the 2011 electoral map, its territory was unchanged. An earlier version of the Beauharnois electoral district had been created for the 1867 election (and an electoral district of that name existed earlier in the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada and the Legislative Assembly of Lower Canada). Vaudreuil is a provincial electoral district in the Montérégie region of Quebec, Canada that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. The biggest municipality in the district is Vaudreuil-Dorion. It was created for the 1867 election (and an electoral district of that name existed earlier in the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada and the Legislative Assembly of Lower Canada). Jacques-Cartier
Jacques-Cartier is an electoral district in the West Island of Montreal, Canada, that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It is the only provincial electoral district in Quebec with an Anglophone majority. It notably includes the city of Pointe-Claire. Named after Jacques Cartier, the district existed in the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada, and its present incarnation dates from the 1867 election. Jean-Marc Fournier (born October 7, 1959) is a Quebec politician and a lawyer. Pierre Moreau (born December 12, 1957 in Vercheres, Quebec) is a lawyer and a politician in the Canadian province of Quebec. Pierre Moreau was the Liberal MNA for the riding of Marguerite-D'Youville in the National Assembly of Quebec from 2003 to 2007. He ran again in 2008 in the nearby electorate of Châteauguay, and entered Cabinet. Moreau ran unsuccessfully for the leadership of the Quebec Liberal Party in 2013, coming second to Philippe Couillard. In Canada, an allophone is a resident whose mother tongue or home language is neither French nor English. The term parallels ''anglophone'' and '' francophone'', which designate people whose mother tongues are English and French, respectively. Some sources do not consider native speakers of Indigenous languages to be allophones.
