Chulabhorn International College Of Medicine, Thammasat University
The Chulabhorn International College of Medicine, Thammasat University or CICM () is the twenty-first medical school set up in Thailand located in Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province and is the first institution in Thailand to provide an international course in medicine. The first year course consists of general sciences, followed by preclinical years 2 and 3 and then the clinical years 4–6. During the clinical years, Thammasat University Hospital is used as the main training site and students may undertake electives in foreign countries. CICM was opened on 28 August 2012 to provide medical education in English as an international course. The setup of the university involved a cooperation between Thammasat University and Bumrungrad International Hospital. Thammasat University Hospital
Thammasat University Hospital ( th, โรงพยาบาลธรรมศาสตร์เฉลิมพระเกียรติ; ) is a public hospital subsidiary to the Office of the Rector, Thammasat University, Ministry of Education. It is located in the Rangsit Campus, Pathum Thani Province, Thailand. The construction of the hospital complex began in 1986 and King Bhumibol Adulyadej presided over the ceremony of laying the foundation stone of the main building on 3 November of that year. The hospital commenced its operation on 5 December 1987, on which the king turned 60 years of age. However, the hospital was formally opened on 29 March 1988. Medical education in Thailand was pioneered by King Chulalongkorn, who founded the country's first medical school called the "School of Medical Practitioners" at Siriraj Hospital in 1889, now the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University.
