Christus Consolator
''Christus'' is an 1833 white Carrara marble statue of the resurrected Jesus Christ by Bertel Thorvaldsen located in the Church of Our Lady ( Evangelical Lutheran Church of Denmark) in Copenhagen, Denmark. It was commissioned as part of a larger group, which includes 11 of the original 12 apostles and Paul the Apostle (instead of Judas Iscariot). It has been widely reproduced. Images and replicas of the statue were adopted by the leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) in the 20th century to emphasize the centrality of Jesus Christ in its teachings. Original sculpture The Church of Our Lady was destroyed by fire in September 1807 from bombardment by the British Royal Navy during the Battle of Copenhagen (1807) which was part of the Napoleonic Wars. Henrik Haggenmacher (November 6, 1827 – June 5, 1917) was a Swiss-born Hungarian industrialist, business magnate, philanthropist and investor. The Protestant Luisenfriedhof III (german: Der evangelische Luisenfriedhof III) is a cemetery in the Westend district of Berlin. The cemetery is under monument and cultural heritage protection. History A church-owned and operated cemetery with a size of 12 hectares, Luisenfriedhof III was consecrated in 1891 and the first burial took place on 19 June 1891. It is the original and current flagship location of Forest Lawn Memorial-Parks & Mortuaries, a chain of six cemeteries and four additional mortuaries in Southern California. The Protestant Church of Peace (german: Friedenskirche) is situated in the Marly Gardens on the Green Fence (''Am Grünen Gitter'') in the palace grounds of Sanssouci Park in Potsdam, Germany.
