Christopher J. Cramer
Christopher J. Cramer (born September 23, 1961) is a research chemist and served as Vice President for Research at the University of Minnesota from 2018–2021. He presently serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Research Officer for Underwriters Laboratories Inc. Education Cramer studied mathematics and chemistry at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He earned a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, working with doctoral advisor Scott E. Denmark. Military service Cramer served for four years as an officer in the U.S. Army Chemical Corps from 1988 to 1992, including combat duty in Iraq during Operation Desert Storm. The ''Minnesota Daily'' is the campus newspaper of the University of Minnesota, published Monday and Thursday while school is in session, and published weekly on Wednesdays during summer sessions. Published since 1900, the paper is currently the largest student-run and student-written newspaper in the United States and the largest paper in the state of Minnesota behind the ''Minneapolis Star Tribune'' and the ''St. Paul Pioneer Press''. Allan Levine (born February 10, 1956) is a Canadian author from Winnipeg, Manitoba, known mainly for his award-winning non-fiction and historical mystery writing. Life and works Levine attended the University of Manitoba and the University of Toronto; he got a PhD in Canadian history from Toronto in 1985. His graduate thesis on the grain business in Winnipeg was turned into his first book in 1987, at which point he was teaching and freelancing as a journalist. Chemical Corps
The Chemical Corps is the branch of the United States Army tasked with defending against chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) weapons. The Chemical Warfare Service was established on 28 June 1918, combining activities that until then had been dispersed among five separate agencies of the United States federal government. It was made a permanent branch of the Regular Army by the National Defense Act of 1920. In 1945, it was redesignated the Chemical Corps. History Origins Discussion of the topic dates back to the American Civil War.
