Christoph Girardet
Christoph Girardet is a German filmmaker and artist. He lives and works in Hanover. Biography Girardet studied fine arts and film/video from 1988 to 1993 at the Braunschweig University of Art under Gerhard Büttenbender and Birgit Hein. He had produced videos, video-installations and films since 1989. He collaborated with Volker Schreiner and often works with Matthias Müller. Christoph Girardet works primarily with found footage. It serves as source material for his visual research, in the course of which he initially dissembles and deconstructs scenes, before reassembling them in a way such that the actual structures and internal mechanisms of their content are rendered visible. In 2000 Girardet received a scholarship for the International Studio & Curatorial Program in New York and in 2004 the Villa Massimo scholarship in Rome. The Vancouver Art Gallery (VAG) is an art museum in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. CaixaForum Barcelona is a cultural center in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Located in the Montjuïc area in a former Modernist textile factory designed by Josep Puig i Cadafalch, it is owned by the not-for-profit banking foundation "la Caixa". After a restoration of the building, the art center opened its doors in 2002 and since then it hosts temporary art exhibitions and cultural events. The Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen is the art collection of the German Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia, in Düsseldorf. Royal Saltworks At Arc-et-Senans
The Saline Royale (Royal Saltworks) is a historical building at Arc-et-Senans in the department of Doubs, Eastern France. It is next to the Forest of Chaux and 29.2 kilometres (18.1 miles) to the southwest of Besançon. The architect was Claude-Nicolas Ledoux (1736–1806), a prominent Parisian architect of the time. The work is an important example of an early Enlightenment project in which the architect based his design on a philosophy that favored arranging buildings according to a rational geometry and a hierarchical relation between the parts of the project. The Institut Claude-Nicolas Ledoux has taken on the task of conservator and is managing the site as a monument. The Palais de Tokyo (''Tokyo Palace'') is a building dedicated to modern and contemporary art, located at 13 avenue du Président-Wilson, facing the Trocadéro, in the 16th arrondissement of Paris.
