From 1972 to 1977 Eichhorn worked as actor at Schauspielhaus Bochum. As film actor he played in various films. In February 2021, Eichhorn came out as gay.''«Wir sind schon da».''

It is the eighth offshoot of ''SOKO München'', launched in 1978 under the name ''SOKO 5113''. "SOKO" is an abbreviation of the German word ''Sonderkommission'', which means "special investigative team". The first season of ''Stuttgart Homicide'', consisting of twenty episodes, aired on ZDF from November 2009. In February 2022, filming began on the fourteenth season, made up of twenty-five episodes. ''Ein Fall für zwei'' (''"A case for two"'') is a German television series, which premiered on 11 September 1981 on ZDF. The series, set in Frankfurt am Main, features two main characters who solve crimes: a defense attorney and a private investigator. Josef Matula (played by Claus Theo Gärtner), a former German police officer, has gone into private business. His method of investigation is very effective and direct, and he sometimes even resorts to dirty tricks. Claus Theo Gärtner portrayed the role until 2013. The series' original opening theme sequence showed the viewer that Matula had been fired from the police and tried or convicted.
