''Christmas with The Jets'' is the second studio album by Tongan-American family band The Jets, released on November 30th, 1986, by MCA Records. It is also their first and only Christmas album to date. Although a single from this album was not released at the time, "Christmas In My Heart" would appear on the B-side of their single, "Anytime", two years later in 1988. Noted tracks include " Somewhere Out There" from the animated film ''An American Tail'' (1986) which was also recorded and released by Linda Ronstadt and James Ingram at the same time to become a hit for the duo a few months later in 1987. Rupert Holmes penned "Christmas In My Heart" and would soon work with The Jets again with " You Got It All" as well as the previously mentioned "Anytime". The Jets (Minnesota Band)
The Jets are a Tongan-American family band from Minneapolis, Minnesota, composed of brothers and sisters LeRoy, Eddie, Eugene, Haini, Rudy, Kathi, Elizabeth, and Moana Wolfgramm, who perform pop, R&B, and dance music. They started performing as a family band in 1977. The group enjoyed worldwide success in 1985–1990, performing three world tours, and producing five top-10 hits on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Background The original band consisted of the eight oldest children of Maikeli "Mike" and Vaké Wolfgramm, who were originally from Tonga. The family has 17 children: 15 by birth, and two, Eddie and Eugene, by adoption. The children attended Robbinsdale Cooper High School. David Goldstein (born February 24, 1947), better known as Rupert Holmes, is a British-American composer, singer-songwriter, dramatist and author. He is widely known for the hit singles "Escape (The Piña Colada Song)" (1979) and " Him" (1980). He is also known for his musicals ''The Mystery of Edwin Drood'', which earned him two Tony Awards, and ''Curtains'', and for his television series ''Remember WENN''. "You Got It All" is a song recorded by American band the Jets. It was released in 1986 as the fourth single from their debut studio album '' The Jets'' (1985). It was written by Rupert Holmes, most famous for the 1979 hit "Escape (The Piña Colada Song)", and produced by Don Powell (not to be confused with Slade's drummer) and David Rivkin. Holmes wrote it for his 10-year-old daughter Wendy but she never got to hear it become a hit, as prior to its release she died suddenly of an undiagnosed brain tumour. The song features the second youngest member of the group, then-13-year-old Elizabeth Wolfgramm, on lead vocals. "You Got It All" peaked at number three on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in the US in early 1987. The song also topped the adult contemporary chart for two weeks, and reached number two on the R&B chart. James Edward Ingram (February 16, 1952 – January 29, 2019) was an American singer, songwriter and record producer. He was a two-time Grammy Award-winner and a two-time Academy Awards, Academy Award nominee for Academy Award for Best Original Song, Best Original Song. Linda Maria Ronstadt (born July 15, 1946) is a retired American singer who performed and recorded in diverse genres including rock, country, light opera, the Great American Songbook, and Latin.
