Christiana is a town in Dane County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,313 at the 2000 census. The unincorporated community of Utica is located within the town. It is named after Oslo, Norway (formerly Christiania) and has one of the highest percentages of Norwegian ancestry in the United States. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 35.5 square miles (91.8 km2), of which, 35.3 square miles (91.5 km2) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.4 km2) of it (0.39%) is water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 1,313 people, 468 households, and 356 families residing in the town. The population density was 37.2 people per square mile (14.4/km2). There were 492 housing units at an average density of 13.9 per square mile (5.4/km2).
