Christian Ulrik Foltmar
Christian Ulrik Foltmar (ca. 1716 - 11 August 1794) was a Danish wallpaper weaver, painter of miniatures and organist. Foltmar was the son of the musician Johan Voltmar, and he was a brother to the composers Herman Friedrich Voltmar, Johan Foltmar, and to the painter Christoffer Foltmar Christoffer Foltmar (17 October 1718 – 4 April 1759) was a Danish painter of miniatures and organist. Johan Voltmar
Johan Voltmar ( – ?) was a German musician and composer, who lived in Copenhagen, Denmark–Norway from , together with his family. Voltmar was married to Anne Margretlie Elisabeth Voltmar, who also possessed artistic talent. Together, they had at least 3 daughters and 4 sons, who also were accomplished artists. Voltmar was presumably an Oboe, oboist in the Grenadier regiment, but later became a royal violinist at the Royal Danish Orchestra. The parents Homeschooling, homeschooled their children, and the two eldest sons, Herman Friedrich Voltmar and Johan Foltmar both became professional musicians. The two youngest, Christian Ulrik Foltmar and Christoffer Foltmar were artists. Johan Voltmar's compositions include a flute sonata and a concert for four flutes, 2 violins and double bass. Herman Friedrich Voltmar (1707 – 6 May 1782) was a Danish composer. He was the eldest son of the oboist Johan Voltmar. The family moved to Denmark around 1711. His three brothers were also artists: composer Johan Foltmar, and painters Christian Ulrik Foltmar and Christoffer Foltmar. Christoffer Foltmar
Christoffer Foltmar (17 October 1718 – 4 April 1759) was a Danish painter of miniatures and organist. Early life Foltmar was the son of musician Johan Voltmar, and he was the brother of composers Herman Friedrich Voltmar, Johan Foltmar, and painter Christian Ulrik Foltmar. He trained both in music and painting and was the pupil of Jacob Fosie in both areas, who was the painter and organist at the Church of Holmen. Foltmar later specialized in miniature painting in watercolor and enamel. Music In 1739 he became the organist at Vajsenhus, whose organ he and his brother Johan reportedly single-handedly newly built. Vajsenhus organists were poorly paid and Foltmar was promised to follow his mentor Fosie as organist at the Church of Holmen. However Foltmar died first and therefore did not get the coveted office.
