Christian Orlainsky (born 27 February 1962) is an Austrian former alpine skier who competed in the 1980 Winter Olympics. Career In 1980 he finished 13th in the Olympic giant slalom event. He also competed in the slalom competition but did not finish the race. In 1981 he won his only world cup giant slalom in Ebnat-Kappel Ebnat-Kappel is a municipality in the ''Wahlkreis'' (constituency) of Toggenburg in the canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland. Tschagguns is a village in the Montafon valley, Bludenz district in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg. Tschagguns offers skiing with its own ski resort called Golm. The 1980 Winter Olympics, officially the XIII Olympic Winter Games and also known as Lake Placid 1980, were an international multi-sport event held from February 13 to 24, 1980, in Lake Placid, New York, United States. Lake Placid was elected as the host city for the 1980 Winter Games at the 75th International Olympic Committee (IOC) Session in Vienna, Austria in 1974. This marked the second time the Upstate New York village hosted the Winter Games, after 1932.
