Chris Wilson (Australian Musician)
Christopher John Wilson (2 December 1956 – 16 January 2019) was an Australian blues musician who sang and played harmonica, saxophone and guitar. He performed as part of the Sole Twisters, Harem Scarem and Paul Kelly and the Coloured Girls, and fronted his band Crown of Thorns. Wilson's solo albums are ''Landlocked'' (June 1992), ''The Long Weekend'' (March 1998), ''Spiderman'' (2000), ''King for a Day'' (July 2002), ''Flying Fish'' (2012) and the self titled ''Chris Wilson'' (2018). In March 1996, Wilson collaborated with Johnny Diesel in a blues project, Wilson Diesel, which issued an album, '' Short Cool Ones'', composed mostly of "soul and R&B standards". It peaked at No. 18 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Outside of his music career Wilson taught English at various secondary schools in Melbourne for about 20 years. X is an Australian punk rock band, formed in Sydney, New South Wales in 1977 founded by Ian Rilen, Steve Lucas, Ian Krahe and Steve Cafiero. The group was formed simultaneously to, and with no knowledge of, the Los Angeles group of the same name. History Early years Ian Rilen had been a founder member of the hard rock group Rose Tattoo; on leaving that band he formed X with Steve Lucas as vocalist, Ian Krahe on guitar and Steve Cafiero on drums in 1977. Krahe was renowned for playing so frenetically without a pick that his hands would bleed. Krahe died of an overdose on 20th May 1978, shortly before the group recorded its first album, '' X-Aspirations''. Pancreatic cancer arises when cell (biology), cells in the pancreas, a glandular organ behind the stomach, begin to multiply out of control and form a Neoplasm, mass. ''Short Cool Ones'' is a 1996 collaborative album by Wilson Diesel, ( Chris Wilson and Johnny Diesel). The album consists mainly of blues covers, with one original track, "Other Man". It was co-produced by Doug Roberts, Wilson, and Diesel. They released two singles, " I Can't Stand the Rain" (March) and "Strange Love" (May). Background In April 1996 Wilson Diesel issued a collaborative album, ''Short Cool Ones'' on Aurora Records label for Mushroom Records, with Chris Wilson on lead vocals and harmonica, and Johnny Diesel on lead vocals and lead guitar. Guitar
The guitar is a fretted musical instrument that typically has six strings. It is usually held flat against the player's body and played by strumming or plucking the strings with the dominant hand, while simultaneously pressing selected strings against frets with the fingers of the opposite hand.
