Chris Thompson (swimmer)
Christopher Lee Thompson (born November 30, 1978) is an American former competition swimmer who won the bronze medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics in the men's 1,500-meter freestyle. He was the second American swimmer to break the 15-minute mark in the 1,500-meter freestyle, and held the American record for four years. He attended the University of Michigan, where he was a member of the Michigan Wolverines swimming and diving team from 1997 to 2001. Both at Michigan and as a post-graduate, Chris swam under coach Jon Urbanchek from 1997 to 2004. He held the NCAA and American records in the 1,650-yard freestyle for eleven years. Currently, he coaches the Plymouth Canton Cruisers swim team in Plymouth, Michigan. Chris Thompson (runner)
Christopher Thompson (born 17 April 1981) is a British long-distance runner, who won the silver medal in the 10,000 metres at the 2010 European Athletics Championships in Barcelona, on 27 July 2010 behind his compatriot Mo Farah. Prior to his 2010 medal win he had won the European U23 5000 m Championship in 2003. However he was initially unable to build on this victory, as he had substantial injury problems for a number of years. He is currently coached by Alan Storey. Thompson ran at the 2010 Great Yorkshire Run in September and came close to victory, but was edged out by a second by Australian Craig Mottram. He took on top African runners at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, but he could not repeat his podium performance of Barcelona; he finished in fifth place behind Ugandan winner Moses Kipsiro and the Kenyan team, making him the top non-African performer in the event. Christopher J. Thompson (born May 19, 1982 in New Orleans, Louisiana) is a former NFL and CFL cornerback. He is currently cornerbacks coach for the Nicholls Colonels. He played college football at Florida State University and was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Chris Thompson (born 8 December 1971 from York) is a former English professional darts player who currently playing in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He uses the nickname Hitman. Career Thompson played county darts for Yorkshire for many years. In 1997, he reached the quarter-finals of the revived News of the World Darts Championship. His best result on the British Darts Organisation circuit was a British Open semi-final in 2004. Thompson joined the PDC in 2007. At the 2008 UK Open, he defeated Adrian Gray, Steve Maish and Brendan Dolan on the way to the quarter-finals, where he was beaten 5–10 by Vincent van der Voort. Thompson achieved some notable results on the 2010 PDC Pro Tour, reaching the semi-finals in two events. Christopher Thompson (24 January 1960 – 5 June 2012) was an English footballer who played as a midfielder or a forward. Career Thompson was born in Walsall, West Midlands on 24 January 1960. He started his career at Bolton Wanderers, signing professional terms with the club in 1977 after impressing in the club youth teams. He made his debut for the club on 25 October 1977 in a League Cup match against Peterborough United. His first league appearance for the club came during the 1979–80 season, appearing as a substitute in a 3–1 defeat against Coventry City. He made a total of 81 appearances in all competitions for Bolton, scoring 20 goals, before being transferred to Blackburn Rovers in 1983. Christopher Hamlet Thompson (born 9 March 1948) is an English singer and guitarist known both for his work with Manfred Mann's Earth Band, specifically for his lead vocal on the classic hit "Blinded By the Light" and for his solo accomplishments. Biography Thompson was born in Ashford, Kent, England, but raised in New Zealand. His early musical experiences were whilst still at school with the band The Paragons that played at weekly church youth club dances.
