Christopher Stadnyk is a Canadian international lawn bowler. Bowls career Stadnyk won the bronze medal in the triples with Keith Roney and Hiren Bhartu at the 2008 World Outdoor Bowls Championship in Christchurch. He has won four medals at the Asia Pacific Bowls Championships, two silver and two bronze. Bowls, also known as lawn bowls or lawn bowling, is a sport in which the objective is to roll biased balls so that they stop close to a smaller ball called a "jack" or "kitty". It is played on a bowling green, which may be flat (for "flat-green bowls") or convex or uneven (for "crown green bowls"). World Bowls Championship
The World Bowls Championship is the premier world bowls competition between national bowls organisations. The premier indoor event is the World Indoor Bowls Championships listed separately and is organised by the World Bowls Tour. World Outdoor Championships First held in Australia in 1966, the World Outdoor Bowls Championships for men and women are held every four years. From 2008 the men's and women's events were held together. Qualifying national bowls organisations (usually countries) are represented by a team of five players, who play once as a single and a four, then again as a pair and a triple. Asia Pacific Bowls Championships
The Asia Pacific Bowls Championships formerly the Pacific Rim Championships was a bowls, lawn bowling competition held between national bowls organisations in the Asia Pacific region. The event was inaugurated in 1985, and it was initially held every two years but then took place every four years and was a qualifying event for the World Bowls Championship, World Outdoor Bowls Championships. In 2021, the 2020 World Outdoor Bowls Championship was officially cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. World Bowls then decided that the World Championships would take place every two years starting in 2023. Keith Roney
Keith Norman Roney (born February 11, 1948) is a Canadian international lawn bowler. Bowls career He was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, he grew up in Bulyea, Saskatchewan and first began bowling in 1979. He has won 27 medals at the Canadian Championships and was inducted into the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame. He won four medals at the Asia Pacific Bowls Championships including a gold medal in the 2003 pairs, in Brisbane, Australia. Hiren Bhartu
Hirendra Bhartu (born May 14, 1958) is a Canadian professional indoor and lawn bowling, lawn bowler from Suva, Fiji. He has won nine Canadian national titles in Men's Singles and Pairs as well as Mixed Pairs. Bowls career Hirendra began his lawn bowling career at Nanaimo Lawn Bowling Club in 1995. In 2006, after honing his talent for indoor bowls at the Pacific Indoor Club in Vancouver, BC, he catapulted onto the international lawn bowling scene by soundly defeating his Canadian counterparts in all 4 of the Canadian PBA qualifiers in order to play in the World Bowls Tour. Canada competed at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia from 4 April – 15 April 2018. It was Canada's 21st appearance at the Commonwealth Games, having competed at every Games since their inception in 1930. The 2018 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XXI Commonwealth Games and also known as Gold Coast 2018, was an international multi-sport event for members of the Commonwealth that were held on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, between 4 and 15 April 2018.
