Chris Rose (artist)
Christopher Andrew Rose (born 27 August 1959 in Kilembe, Uganda) is a British wildlife artist. He is member of the Society of Wildlife Artists (SWLA) since 1983. Rose was born in Uganda where he lived until the age of six. After an education in the Rydens County Secondary School in Hersham, Surrey he studied biology at the University of Nottingham from 1979 to 1981 where he graduated to BSc. Unable to find work as a biologist he was offered a contract as illustrator for the Dorset Heritage Coast Project, where he worked until 1982. Between 2003 and 2009 he served on the board of governors of the Federation of British Artists and was secretary of the SWLA from 2009 to 2015. Kilembe is a community in Kasese District, in the Western Region of Uganda. Handbook Of The Birds Of The World
The ''Handbook of the Birds of the World'' (HBW) is a multi-volume series produced by the Spanish publishing house Lynx Edicions in partnership with BirdLife International. It is the first handbook to cover every known living species of bird. The series was edited by Josep del Hoyo, Andrew Elliott, Jordi Sargatal and David A. Christie. All 16 volumes have been published. For the first time an animal class will have all the species illustrated and treated in detail in a single work. This has not been done before for any other group in the animal kingdom. Malcolm Ogilvie
Dr Malcolm Alexander Ogilvie is a British ornithologist and freelance natural history author and consultant. One of his areas of expertise is wildfowl. Ogilvie was a research scientist with the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust from 1960 to 1986, also editing their journal, ''Wildfowl'', from 1966 to 1986. Until 1997 he was a member of the '' British Birds'' editorial board and a member of the editorial board of the handbook ''The Birds of the Western Palearctic''. He has been a fully qualified bird ringer since 1958. The Federation of British Artists (FBA) consists of nine art societies, and is based at Mall Galleries in London where the societies' Annual Exhibitions are held. The societies represent living artists working in the United Kingdom who create contemporary figurative art. Mall Galleries aim to 'promote, inspire and educate audiences about the visual arts.'
